Who will call you to say that you are offered a spot from the waitlist? Is it directly from the admission office? Is it directly from Duke? Or, can it be from the admission rep's house?

Are you waitlisted... me too.. do you know the waitlist stats so far? When will they start picking people (I am from Pakistan).
Can you tell me what is your option if not Duke?

Yeah, I'm waitlisted. I think about 10 CCers got off so far.

Does fin. aid matter in Duke's decision to admit students? If so, have you applied for aid, and is it a good idea to tell the adcom that we can pay, let's say, $10k more now than we pledged??

I got in off the waiting list a week ago.

I got a call from my adcom.

Financial aid does not factor in (I don't think, I didn't apply for aid).

Rumor is that there are around 150 spots, although I'm unsure how many have been filled. Good luck!

I got off the waitlist about a week ago too. :) An Alice Dolbow left a message...she's the Associate Director of Admissions.

No, financial aid doesn't matter at all, because I applied for it and got a pretty nice package! $7000 of "Duke Scholarship," plus another 7k of workstudy/loans. That basically cemented my decision for me...it'd be even cheaper than Rice. :D
