Who will I see on Spring Insight Open House, April 10?

The yield rates at comparable schools Irvine and Davis went down though, while SB went up. In fact, the yield rate at most UCs went down from Fall 2008 to 2009:

Not saying Floatopia caused a spike in enrollment but the spike didn’t follow the trend of the other UCs.

are students really taking to the streets? will this affect spring insight (if they are raging through the streets)?

Im in SB right now. =D

OooOOOoo. I’ll be in SB tmrw!

:D

Floatopia is officially not taking place, got a email from the school :(. But “Deltopia” might be going on. It’ll probably be a huge repeat of Halloween but during the day and night on Del Playa. Hope you kiddos have fun on campus! Might see you!!!

Hmm. What exactly did the email from the school say?

It said that the police are closing down the beaches and that they will be putting extra police around access points to the beach.

So far, the city/ area is amazing. Went to two beaches and going whale watching tomm and other stuff. I drove around the campus really fast and it looks amazing. Probably know more about school at open house. But, whatever my choice in the end; this is really fun.

I’m going to be there!
I’m visiting Cal Poly SLO tomorrow and UCSB on Sat.
Hopefully after the open house I’ll be able to choose one.

Saturday will be my third time visiting the campus. Taking the six hour drive down there tmrw and stayin the night.
To everyone going:: may I suggest you checkout State Street in downtown SB in the evening. It’s an amazing downtown area with great shopping and really nice places to eat. Promise you that any of your parents will love it too :)

im on del playa right now, ill be here for the 10th but not actually going to the spotlight thingy

I guess I’ll see all of ya cc’ers tomorrow! :)

it’s gonna be an interesting day. . . .

so did anyone go ? what happened with floatopia ?

Didn’t even see anything relating to Floatopia.

Overall - I found it to be a nice visit. The campus tour totally failed in comparison with the one I received from UCI. Still thought it looked nice, albeit UCSB looks better in the sunshine than on a cloudy day.

since the beach was closed off everyone just walked down DP and crashed some house parties, so it was like halloween here except it was during the day and people were in bathing suites. Some people and parents drove down with their kids on DP while all of this was happening and the expression on their face was funny

See here for pics:

I LOVE ucsb! After spring insight, I think there’s about a 90% chance I’ll attend there

hehe.

Its still a tie between UCD and UCSB for me.

UCSB has a really strong communications program and the CCS, plus the weather and location is nice. But UCD has the landscape architect major, and has easily accessible, huge libraries.

Uh Oh! Gotta decide quick! :o.

My dad found out for the first time that UCSB is a major-party/social school. :stuck_out_tongue: ha

It was cloudy. Then it turned sunny.

My car’s batteries failed on me. Found out the we had to clean the battery contacts, major fail. . …

I played table tennis in the table tennis booth. . . .

. . . .it was the first time playing ping pong in a couple of weeks.

It was not pretty.
lol. . . . when I went to the insight open house yesterday, I saw no floatopia. . . But Isla Vista was a pleasant surprise. (I seriously pictured IV to be an American version of Tijuana or something. . . ) :)

Well you know about the library program right? I know it’s not directly at your fingertips but all of the uc’s can borrow books from other uc’s…there’s an online catalog where you can order any book in the system and have it shipped to any uc within a week. But I know what you mean, if my appeal to Davis goes through I’m going to have a hell of a time deciding since Davis is my top choice but sb was so amazing. And yeah I had no idea that floatopia was even happening. When I went to iv I saw hoards of people traveling in the beach direction but it’s not like that’s a rare occurrence :)

there was no sign of floatopia even happening… since the spring insight is far enough from isla vista
