Who Worked Hard For 800 CR?

For me, actually knowing the words was not as important or useful as paying attention to logical consistency in the sentence completion questions. If the words didn’t make grammatic sense in a particular context, for instance, I would know not to use them. Process of elimination, as well as relatively easy vocabulary, were the two key factors in my success. I did no studying of SAT words. I find that to be a waste of time, because you’re scattershooting and semi-learning hundreds or even thousands of words, when come test day you will only have to recall twenty or thirty.

^ What about passage-based questions? How did you approach them?

Like I said, the passage-based questions were not too difficult because I had grown accustomed to taking AP multiple-choice practice tests, which contain much more difficult passages and questions. My mind was conditioned to analyze harder material under equally distressing time constraints. Also, I have a naturally analytical mind, so “critical” reading is rather organic to me.

^do you read the entire passage or just the references to the passage?

I would read the entire passage. For me to effectively analyze the passage (which is necessary for the harder questions), I need to observe it as a whole.

^I need to do the same. Did you ever have trouble with time? (I always end up going right to the time limit).

I have never had trouble with time.
