I just got my report card and I messed up more than I thought. I got a C+ in AP Euro third quarter (A- for first semester) and a C in AP Bio (B for first semester); I kind of expected the former but not the latter. Everything else is over B+, and fourth quarter is going well and will be pretty easy after the APs. Will colleges only look at my grade for the year, and should I worry about being rescinded? None of my year grades should be lower than a B-/B.
Sorry, I'm sure there are a lot of these threads, but I'm freaking out because I didn't anticipate more than one C. The schools in question are Hamilton College and McGill University.

The lack of response is tightening the knot in my stomach right now. ****.

A C is not a reason to be rescinded, unless you fall from straight A’s to straight C’s.

You’ll be fine, relax. One little C is not a problem, especially you did well in other subjects.

Errr, it’s two C’s - not that I want to be told I’m screwed, but I don’t want to let my guard down too quickly.

My excuse doesn’t buy too many sympathy votes either. I was basically a depressed zombie after getting deferred/rejected from my ED school in February, and I didn’t snap out of it until late 3rd quarter. Stupid me.

Ask your registrar and/or guidance counselor which scores they send to the colleges. It’s likely that they are the year-end grades. But we shouldn’t be asked to guess And if they in fact send the quarter grades, also ask your GC counselor how that affects your admission status.

If you’re worried you should call the 2 colleges and check. They know what it means, and why choose a college without knowing what impact it might have? You definitely have more options now than you will when the school takes action (should they decide to do so) in mid summer. Furthermore colleges like students that are responsible and own up to what they’ve done. Even should this be a problem, which I doubt, if you call now you can probably work out something to do over the summer; when the summer is 1/2 over it will be too late.

I wouldn’t worry too much about it. I’m attending McGill in the fall, and so I know they kind of threatened to take away admission with the “admitted pending final results” but I’m pretty sure they just don’t want you to flunk out and simply want to make sure you graduate.
