Who's appealing?

After rejections being released today, I know I'm appealing to UC Irvine. Just wondering, how many other people plan on appealing as well?

I am planning on appealing. However, I don’t think I’ll get accepted.

i am how long should the letter be?

i think about a page should be fine

I was thinking about appealing, but online it says we highly discourage people to appeal because they reviewed our applications thoroughly. But i think i mite appeal to berkeley

what’s the point of appealing when there’s already a waitlist…?
& last year they let people know by may 10th!

they said 4 to 6 weeks for your decision

My friend appealed and got in a week before school started LOL.

^ last year.

You guys should know that you don’t just appeal because you feel that you deserved admission, you appeal when you omit information that could have pushed you over the edge into the admit pile. This then, would be independent from the wait list, which is full of people who are on the border and do not have new and compelling information to share.

i might appeal, not sure though

honestly i dont think its worth the appeal <.<. They made you wait that long for a rejection, you guys deserve better schools >:(. UCD or UCSB

Well. I think I am going to appeal.

I am going to appeal that I am more involved in school activities than I seem to be on my application. Cause I left out many minor things on my application cause I thought they were not important. On my application, I don’t seem like a very vibrant person who takes part in school activities.

I know my chances are very very low. But I want to get in so badly.

Good luck then iamnicolle  and other appealers :).

Thanks! Good luck to the rest too. It sucks we have to apply to University during the economic downturn :frowning: Tough year for us…

I don’t know if I should appeal or just go to Santa Cruz. The thing keeping me hooked on Irvine is its major of Criminology, Law and Society. It has everything I ever wanted, psych, socio and law classes combined in one. Ugh.

Do you guys think I should appeal?

@sweetxsimple Yea I think you should appeal, my friend last year appealed and got in. He was a bio major & the only school he got into was ucsc.
but he got a letter of rec. from a teacher that went to MIT. and he took 5 AP classes his senior year…

if you have new things that either you left out or have done since you applied then yes you should appeal but if you’re just going to tell them that you really want to go there then no :</p>

You cant appeal for the sake of appealing… you MUST have new and compelling information that contains “merit.” This is NOT stuff you forgot to add to your application (Awards, Leadership Positions, Hours, etc…) Its more like stuff in your personal life that you have not shared with them already.

All information from UCSD officer.

@iamawesome27

Should I put in a letter of rec. too? My activities director has known me for 4 years and although he may not be from some prestigious school, I feel as if he can offer some insight on the kind of person I am and the difficulties I’ve been through.

Didn’t they say they didn’t want a letter of rec. though? Or they don’t care and that I should just have one? Hahaha.

@ The Legend

Well, I had a bad gpa my junior year due to family issues. I also want to stress that I want to go to their school because they’re the only UC who offers the major I want to go to. Should I include the latter? Because I don’t want to come off as a kiss-ass. Hahahhaa.
