Who's applying ED- class of 2016?

Yo, everybody. Just wondering if anyone else is planning on applying to Princeton or Harvard via ED. I think I am going to. If you are, post your stat, and stuff like that. Also, first thread on the 2015 Princeton forum!!!!!

maybe… considering that or ea at stanford.

I also took classes at pomona college, in chemistry and math, and got A’s in it.
pomona college is cool too tho haha

Perhaps… more likely to apply ED to Columbia or Brown though…

Yet to hear result of SATs, taking ACTs in april, SAT II and 4 AP tests in May
So on that front, I’m very behind on my testing… which is quite frightening.

I also feel as if I’m all over the place… I know that students should be well-rounded but I feel as if it appears that I am doing everything an inch deep a mile wide… any advice?

Well, you have very good grades and AP’s and such, but there is kind of a lack in substantial EC’s. You’re a dancer, which is unique, but it’d be cool if you made it to a national tournament or created your own recital or something excellent. Do that and a few more things-get good ACT, SAT. The thing is, if you have REALLY good, and I’m talking like extremely outstanding EC’s, along with a 4.1 or whatever and some volunteering, you can get away with having lower SAT scores.

GPA (unweighted) 3.85
Taking: AP Calculus AB, AP US History
Next year will take: AP Chemistry, AP Physics, AP Stats, AP Literature, AP Government, AP Macroeconomics, French V, AP Calc BC

so, yeah. i guess that’s it. if you can, i would loveeeeeeee some feedback, please!

Pretty good chance. What is your race? What state do u live in? Im not a rapist, I just want to see if u have any other advantages.

Sent from my DROIDX using CC App

thank you! that’s very encouraging. haha no worries- it’s not creepy at all. i need all the feedback i can get!

i live in florida, actually, but unfortunately I’m not a URM (white female). Otherwise, i guess my only other hook is the fact that i would potentially be the first in my family to go to an ivy, and i have a close alumni connection who promised to help write a supplement rec.

Its kinda hard to follow such great profiles/stats, but I probably will apply to princeton EA. It is such a beautiful school, even if my stats are a little weak compared to others’.
myprinceton7, i love the volunteering in Brazil! It sounds amazing.
And I tried to be sorta vague about everything, and if i couldnt be completely vague I just cut it out.

UW GPA: 4.0, but it could always go down. ;/
Rank: Top 5%? Probably? I don’t see why not.
SAT: June. PSAT said 208, but that will not do at all
SAT II: Math II= 750, Biology=710 (Probably won’t submit since it has nothing to do with what I am interested in, and hopefully one of the two in may will be higher)

This summer i have an internship, so i will be doing some fun research hopefully.
Hooks: Parent is an immigrant? Girl interesting in engineering? Probably nothing.

Don’t Harvard and Princeton only have EA and RD now? I thought they didn’t have ED.

Yea, it is only EA. My bad.

I like the small classes and teacher student ratio at Princeton, and it looks like a Harry Potter pic. My tour guide was accessible and funny–not pretentious, not overly intellectual but clearly sharp as a tack. My stats:
CR 800 W800 M690 (Will take again I guess)
taking AP Chem, Lang, US History, and French, and Got a 5 on AP Euro last year
GPA ( UNweighted)is 4.7 ( all A+s)
Taking CACL BC now and the SAT IIC along with SAT II in US history and maybe Chem. We will see if I can ace them. Man junior year…

I started a tutoring service in my town which took off–won some awards for it. Also head of model UN, young democrats and social action committees in my school. Play piano since I was 6. Wish I were better but I am told I am good enough to make a tape.

What do you think? Any words of wisdom? I know its ridiculously competitive to get in but…and more importantly, if I should be so blessed as to have the choice, what distinguishes Princeton from the top LACS? What is the community like? I know grades are on a curve. Does this create too much competition? Thanks for the advice, some hope, maybe, and other wisdom…

Race? Where are you from? Have to ask…

Sent from my DROIDX using CC App

jewish white boy. east coast. so no chance, huh?

I love Princeton, but I’m not applying EA–if it’s anything like Yale’s EA program (which it looks like it’s going to be), my chances of getting in (Asian female) are damn low, and I’d like to ensure my college education by applying to other non-SC EA schools like Chicago, MIT, and Caltech. I’ve seen too many kids get screwed over by SCEA decisions to put myself through that, sadly. That’s not to bash on Princeton, it’s just the way the system works…

@readyforit. umm the Jewish part is interesting? but idk it’s crazy stuff. @Portia0105 explain how they got “screwed” please.

I’m not posting everything because you’d be surprised how easily you can get identified online.
Yes, I’m applying SCEA
Brief Stats:
95-96% GPA Weighted (100% scale, 92-93% unweighted)
All honors/AP Classes (most rigorous POSSIBLE)
SAT: 2300 superscore
ACT: 34
SAT II: Spanish (Taking in June), Chemistry (Taking in June)
AP: Psych (5), Enviro (5), Chemistry (?), Calc BC (?), Spanish Lang (?), English Lang (?), Human Geography (?).
Senior Schedule: Multivariable Calculus Honors, AP Stat, AP English Lit, AP Bio, Creative Writing, AP Art History (maxed out in foreign language)
ECs: Typical school activities, (like nothing extraordinary in terms of uniqueness), but I’ve demonstrated a lot of commitment, passion, and achievement, as well as many awards and leadership position. I’ve essentially accomplished a lot as a leader in my community activities and contributed a ton.

Hooks: Feeder school, NJ Governor’s School boost, Guidance counselor relationship with school, SCEA (not really but meh), National Merit 1st Choice (I dont think this does anything but meh).

I’m not URM. I live in NJ.

omg…wow you guys ALL have amazing resumes! Slightly jealous over here ;)

My resume is fine, but of course, so is everyone’s here hahaha. I just officially visited about a month ago and the whole EA thing seems a bit strange for me even though Princeton has always been my top choice. Anyone know how much (if at all) they weight legacies?

@macman,well they claim on the record that legacies don’t receive any particular boost, but what I’ve heard is that it’s about 25% more of a chance. Of course, I’ve also heard that legacies are actually more scrutinized, but you can never be too sure. good luck everyone :)
