My sister just got in as a fencing recruit!

@skittlescutie Yeah, there was a fencing recruit that got in from my area. Does anyone know if all the sports recruits are finding out soon or was it just the fencers? On a side note - less than 5 days left!

No official Early Decision notifications have been released by the Office of Admissions, and that means no official decisions have been released to any athletic recruits. Official admissions decisions are only rendered by the Office of Admissions and are not released by coaches. A coach may tell a recruit that they are “likely” to be admitted but in no way is that an official admissions decision. Fencing applicants, nor any other athletic recruit, have been admitted at this time because no ED decisions are finalized.

Hey JHU ED applicants:
How many of you had JHU ask to see your first quarter grades?
I wasn’t asked. Not sure what that means…that they aren’t even considering me? I’m thinking if they are strongly considering you or if you are on the bubble, they ask. In other words, I think it’s GOOD news if they ask to see those grades. Bracing for the worst, since I wasn’t asked. :(

I wasn’t asked either, but I thought they did that after acceptance.

I heard that they don’t ask the students for their first quarter grades if they want them they just contact your school and get them.

I’m pretty positive that they don’t see your senior grades at all until you are either accepted or deferred, in which case I guess they would see your midterm report. But I have never heard of any college looking at first marking period grades…and I’ve never seen anything on any of the JHU websites about that.

only 3 full days…

I’m pretty sure they don’t ask you, the student, but they might as your counselor if they feel the need to.

"I saw the response in reference to ED applicants sending first quarter grades. At this point (December 6), if the first quarter grades were, to the applicant’s knowledge, not sent proactively, would JHU prefer that an ED applicant request that the school send them now? Or just wait until (or IF) JHU “contacts the school directly to obtain the information”? I would want to be helpful and not pesky and am not sure at this point if this is out of the students hands and would be a transaction between JHU and the high school counselor. Thank you for your help.

There is nothing Early Decision applicants need to do at this time with regard to submitting senior year grades. If we want them we will get them."

hey guys.
I’m just curious. Have anyone got any email from the school, or am I the only who haven’t got any?
Now that I heard my friends who applied for other schools got a bunch of emails from their school, I am little worried if my application is not processed well.
I am the only one in the school who applied for Hopkins, so there is no one to compare.
I just wanna make sure everything is okay.
Please tell me it is normal not to get a mail from John Hopkins.
btw 3 days to go. hehe

I haven’t gotten an email either. And there’es nothing on the admissions blogs about JHU sending out any emails before the decision notification date, either. None of my friends who applied ED to JH have received anything either. So don’t worry, others are in the same boat as you. Relax.

@ellier3
Thank you for the information.
God, that’s relieving.
Now I’m just gonna wait for 3 days. :-)

no problem! and yeah, at this point i’m absolutely dying to know as well. Does anyone know what the stats are for deferred students, like how many ED deferred students are admitted come late march/early april?

I am also applying ED but i got an email reminding me to send in my regular decision application LOL…But yea i haven’t got anything for Johns Hopkins regarding my notification etc…

3 more days :D

69 hours 44 minutes and counting…

hey did anyone else apply ED with athletics? Im looking to play on the water polo team next year at Hopkins

I applied with the intention of playing football as a walk-on so probably the “recruit” factor won’t play in too much.

When is there going to be an “Official Decision Johns Hopkins Early Decision” Thread?

I’m soo nervous to see if I will get in. We are coming to the home stretch!!!

crossfingers

I think we should leave this as a discussion thread and open the other thread the day of acceptances/rejections so that there isn’t too much discussion and everyone just posts stats and decsions. You know what I mean?
