Oh lord, I remember being on these cc threads EVERY DAY a few days before decisions were mailed last year. I was just as nervous as each and every one of you. Fair to say, I got absolutely NO sleep on the night of the 14th, haha.

Anyways, I think I speak for all Johns Hopkins freshmen when I say: GOOD LUCK TO ALL OF YOU! NO MATTER WHAT HAPPENS, GO OUT FRIDAY NIGHT AND HAVE FUN!

An update about the release of ED notifications was posted to the Hopkins Insider blog yesterday:
[Hopkins Insider Release of ED Notifications Approaches](Taiga)

Don’t over-think this. There could be any number of reasons why we would not request first quarter grades for an ED applicant … some good, some bad, some neutral. As well, most of the time we already have the updates from an applicant’s counselor that we don’t need to officially request them. It is not good or bad news if we request first quarter grades, or vice versa.

Not true. See here for discussion on first quarter grades for ED applicants:
[Early Decision Questions](Taiga)

The only email we send to ED applicants is a confirmation of the receipt of one’s application and that it is be processed by our office. The only other email we would send out is if a student’s application was missing items. We do not send out any other email correspondence to ED applicants until the release of decision notifications on December 15.

It is very normal to not get mail from John Hopkins, because no such institution exists. DON’T FORGET THE S! It is Johns Hopkins University.

Those statistics are not released as they vary greatly from year to year and is completely based on that year’s applicant pool which also varies greaty from year to year. Information for deferred ED applicants will be posted on the Admissions website, the Hopkins Insider blog, and the Hopkins Forums after ED notifications are released.

If accepted, can I call the financial aid office and receive my estimated financial aid? I’m going on vacation the day after acceptance e-mails are released and would rather not worry about whether the financial aid will be enough.

There will be no need to call. If you applied for financial aid by the deadline, then you should have been provided by the financial aid office information to sign-in to an ISIS account where you can track you financial aid application. If you are admitted Early Decision then you will be able to log-in to that account and see your financial aid offer. If admitted, you will also receive your financial aid offer in your acceptance package.

Good luck everyone! I have a question. Sorry I have many. Does Girls State and Girls Nation play an important part on my app considering that I want to major in IR?

salone congrats on getting elected to girls nation! i went to boys state… im not admissions daniel but i assume its a good thing to have on ur ec resume especially if youre going into something involving gov’t and social sciences like IR. Good luck to everyone and try to sleep tonight lol!

GOOD LUCK EVERYONE! Whatever happens tomorrow, I hope we all just feel proud for going through this process and be proud of what we’ve accomplished! Get some rest tonight and stay focused in class tomorrow! :)<3

I know this may stupid or late cause they already made their decision…But, my SAT scores for November came in to the school December 2 or it was “received” by that date…do you think that Hopkins actually got my score even though I put my intention of taking the test on my application? Cause my Nov score was pretty good :/
