What HS?

Hi, also. I know I’ve joined in late, but I applied ED to SEAS for electrical engineering (submitted my app on Oct 28). From Baltimore, MD

Ahh only two weeks! I’ve been flipping out so much waiting (been driving my parents crazy) and I’ve got no motivation to do other supplements. Hopefully this won’t end up killing me later.

I’m from the ole Baltimore, as well.
Welcome!

I forgot to add:
How much do I want to get into Penn: lim (x–>0) 1/x :D

Also, what is the difference between self-selectivity and selectivity? I dont understand :3

^ Self-selective means that applicants, in effect, pre-select themselves by only the more qualified submitting applications. So, for example, mostly applicants with 700-plus Math SAT scores might apply to an engineering school (thereby self-selecting), whereas applicants with a wider range of Math SAT scores might apply to a liberal arts school. Therefore, although the number of applicants per available spaces may be larger for the liberal arts school, and the ultimate acceptance rate may be lower, in terms of Math SAT scores, the engineering school would in effect be more selective with a higher average Math SAT score, even though its acceptance rate was actually higher than that of the liberal arts school. In that case, the engineering school applicant pool self-selected for higher Math SAT scores.

lim (x–>0) 1/x is undefined. just saying.

well as x approaches 0, 1/x gets larger and larger…so goes to infinity. :)

isnt it just like if x → infinity, then 1/x gets smaller and smaller and goes to zero!

yes, but the limit when x approaches from 0 to the left is negative infinity…but I understand what you mean, and I completely agree :)

[lim (x->0) 1/x - Wolfram|Alpha](<a href=“lim (x->0) 1/x - Wolfram|Alpha”>lim (x->0) 1/x - Wolfram|Alpha)

Yay Wolfram Alpha!

Applied ED to Wharton. Hoping for the best but kinda expecting to be deferred :P

Yeah I’m expecting a deferral, unfortunately. Well, actually, I’m kinda HOPING for a deferral.

Also, am I the only one who creates mental images of what I think you all look like? Or is that just really strange…

^ haha Paige, I do that too especially when I see people with names of my friends… like Paige. 13 more days of waiting!

I don’t really look at the usernames. Penn has almost 30 pages; I don’t think any other school has this many pages for this kind of thread.

“Also, am I the only one who creates mental images of what I think you all look like? Or is that just really strange…”

lolllllll u made me laugh

anyways
advice to all those who are obsessing over penn and can’t seem to start other supplements (which I have been doing for the past month)

START THEM
and all of a sudden u realize u have a lot of good options

it really helped me alleviate the stress somewhat

and also I decided today that I’m too much of a wimp to check the decision, I’m going to make my mom do it, she can endure the process of typing in the username+password and the loading of the page that seems like a century long…

Hey all, is there any way to submit additional material or anything to penn??

yup I think u just mail it to them

in an e-mail? or in the mail?

mail
there should be instructions under supplementary materials

okay thank you!
