anybody else on CC applying EDII? putting the finishing touches on my application as of now.

I am! I should be submitting my app sometime next week.

yeah i gotta get mine done! just waiting on one rec and the counselor form. i’m nervous to hit submit though.

Hey! I am applying ED II to Vanderbilt too! I am from California. Does anyone know if applying ED I and ED II gives you the same chances or are ED II chances less than ED I?

When I went to an information session, they told me that EDI and EDII pretty much give you the same chances.

yeah they said that both rounds are the same. I’m from Indiana!

I’m from Florida! Do you guys have a lot of people at your school applying to Vandy? There are about nine or ten at my high school.

ED1 gives a better chance than ED2 because by the time ED2 applications are in, they’ve already admitted a lot of people through ED1. They just release the stats of who got in ED in general of both of the acceptance rates averaged. Don’t worry though, ED2 still has a greater chance than regular decision though. I know ED1 is better though because well just common sense and my college councilor told me to apply ED1 not 2 because this is a stretch school for me and ED1 shows more interest and has a little bit better chance. Good luck to all of ya’ll though!

i’m the only person applying to vandy from my school as far as i know. i hope that kinda helps. and nobody has gone there ever from my school i dont think. and i’m kinda kicking myself because i was originally going to apply EDI but i scared myself out of it and planned on applying RD. now im applying EDII. totally changed my mind all over the place! it’s a total reach school for me, and i doubt i’ll get in, but its worth a shot!

Yeah the exact same thing happened to me. I was really on the fence about ED1 and by the time I knew it was what I wanted the deadline had passed. I am the only one from my school applying to Vandy. It is my number one choice by fay, I really want to get out of Cali.

I’m applying ED II! Just got rejected from my dream school, time to start on some other apps, but I really like what I’ve seen of Vanderbilt. Here’s hoping I get accepted somewhere!

what is everyone’s second choice? I just got admitted to my second choice (purdue) yesterday.

Vanderbilt is my first choice by far. If I don’t get it I will most likely end up going to a UC like Davis or San Diego unless I get into Dartmouth or Duke (chances are slim).

it’ll depend on my EA decisions and scholarships, but if they’re not what I wanted, I’ll definitely be applying ED II.

I am! I am not very optimistic as they have SO many ED applicants, and I heard EDI had a lot of people turned away. Any other engineers out there?

aaand now i’m definitely going EDII. i goshdarn love vandy, and i saw too many people i know aren’t as smart as me get into h/y today, so i’d love to be somewhere amazing next year… go 'dores!

Does anyone know how many spots are in the entire freshmen class? I’ve found that they accepted AROUND 500 students EDI, and am assuming they’ll take about 1/3 of the class total ED? So if I oversimplify, I’d guess there are around 300 slots for EDII candidates. This is going to be rough haha.

There are 1600 freshmen slots. The number is completely dictated by the number of beds/rooms in the Commons.
