that would mean the out of state applicants will have a little bit more advantage? Becuz they have to pay for full tuition.

When I spoke to a CALS admissions officer, she told me that the CALS dean likes to keep the college at a 3:2 ratio of OOS:NYS. I guess they try to admit and reject with that ratio in mind...

If you apply to ILR, when will you be notified for an interview?

you shouldve had your interview before you sent in you stuff. they don't notify you, its your job to call them and schedule one. i had mine on transfer day.

I had my ILR interview by phone.

My interviewer told me that the transfer decisions (for ILR at least) is coming at the end of April... or that they're trying their best to get it sent out by the end of April.

For those considering applying to Cornell.

The deadline has been extended to March 31st. There is still time to apply. Call the school to find out yourself.

Anyone know about the hotel school?

so guys, i'm pretty sure i'm failing calculus. not just this test, but for the semester. what should i do? everything else i'm doing stellar in, but i just can't do math for my life. i'm thinking of P/NC'ing the class. i know that won't look good, but is that better than an F? also, should i do that before i get my mid-term report signed? because then would what my prof writes be different?
i'm freaking out. the rest of the report is 7 A's and 1 A- and then there's going to be a fat F on it. :( what should i do?

oh and ps i would withdraw, but i can't because then i'm automatically de-registered from chem as well. and if i did decide to P/NC, i would retake it in the summer and make sure i got an A.

Many schools don't allow you to P/F the class after 25% of the course has passed.

Are you still eligible to P/F? If so, then yes I would definitely P/F it. Also, if you do pass the class, there's really no need to repeat it in the summer again.

i had that same problem... i had 3.88 gpa, and i took an honors bio lab class... (not a bio major AT ALL), got a b and it killed my gpa to 3.667....

all in all, id say do whatever you have to in order to protect your gpa... or use your "extra information" part of your essay to explain what happened...

or just dedicate your life to not getting an F in that class....

and for the ILR applicants, that interviewer said theyd try to get them out by end of april? i hope.. cause i have to put a deposit by may 1st for another school if i dont get in... ballz....

I applied to the Arts and Sciences college as a math major...

College GPA: 4.0 (I have 83 credits right now; after I'm totally done with this year, I'd have a little over 90)

Honestly, I don't think I'll get in, though, because my HS GPA was a 2.9.

I'm with you soreadytogetout. I mean I applied to Cornell (for the second time now) just so I wouldn't regret in the future why I had not. But seriously you have a 4.0! That's really something and I'm sure as a transfer student they won't pay that much attention on you HS grades. And even if they do, they are surely gonna notice how hard you've worked in college compared to HS! Don't give up your hopes!!!

Man I can't wait until decisions come!! I have my hopes so high for this school!

Hey dragon, I know exactly what you mean. I don't WANT to get my hopes too high for this school but this is the only school I really want to go to and the only one I applied to. And I've put all my efforts since beginning of 1st semester to get in so I'm praying. I want my decision now.

Can someone explain what the self-service page is supposed to be good for?

I got my log-in about a week ago, but there doesn't seem to be any... information... on the site. Just a generic message to freshman and transfer applicants, and then a button that goes to an inaccurate to-do list for my fin aid app.

Should I be patient for a bit longer?

i both want and don't want my decision. don't because i don't think i'm getting in, especially not after this calculus fiasco, but do because who knows, they might surprise me and also i'll just know for sure and stop freaking out. i haven't even gotten my appid yet though, so i'll still be waiting for a while. hopefully sending out the mid-term report tomorrow.

yeah soreadytogetout, they put way more emphasis on your college material, especially if youve accumulated over 80 credits. i dont even think theyd take all those?

With my grades and mid term grades I have all A’s and 2 B’s. So that makes 7 A’s and 2 B’s. One of the B’s’ is an (88%) Which is pretty close to an A!! I hate that teacher.

Cornell accepts a max of 60 transfer credits. However, if it becomes necessary, it is possible to petition for a few extra credits to be transferred in.
