Who's applying for Fall transfer 09'-Cornell?

niceee bro! lol yeahhh, i grew up listening to TEN… probably changed my life haha. these tunes are pretty nice, im listenin to the ones on the facebook page. its very jason mraz meets “Make Yourself at Home” EP by the starting line, very nice :]

hey hey, i’ve been missing; stupid collegediscussion.com hasn’t notified me that responses were posting on this board (duh, 8 pages have since i last logged in).

we’re down to the wire now folks! i can’t even login anymore; well, i can, but it gives a link to another site for admissions decisions but my pin isn’t in there yet, so i can’t access it.

looking forward to finding out! i’ve heard from 3 other schools and so far my record is 3 out of 3; crossing my fingers for Cornell. :)

viola, so jealous. i played sax in high school but now, as an adult and lover of classical, i wish i’d stuck with violin. i saw a 19 celloist perform recently at oakland symphony, WOW. the guy had me in tears. i despised the piece he chose, but his performance was genius.

i wonder what the open mic scene is like in ithaca? maybe i’ll have time to get back into songwriting.

tick tock tick tock… is it mid-april yet?

Haha I hope the music scene isn’t bad, like outside of the recording classes and stuff. My old band was from new York , and the scene wasn’t to bad but we were also in suffren ny, a couple hours away… I hope up north, it’s the same

Technically!
are you an agreement with CALS?
I’m not sure what you mean by an agreement. I’m not a guaranteed transfer, that is for sure!

brandnew: TEN was amazing. they always played with so much energy live and their recordings were just as great too. thank for your kind words :D, i also love jason mraz haha

so it’s spring break. does mid-april mean that i’m going to find out that i got rejected over vacation?
it’s going to make the sunshine far less fun if that’s what’s going to happen.

actually, i just had my ILR interview today but they said that they won’t be sending out transfer admissions letter till end of April. at least for ILR i guess :)

nice, how’d your interview go amers?

mid-april seems super early considering they extended the deadline to march 31st for everyone right?

remy_enders, well i guess i did ok, though i think I was talking all over the place!:frowning:
my interview went on for almost 50 mins…i’m wondering if this was TOO long?
it didn’t seem that long though,
maybe i talked too much…lol

Oh hey a fellow ILRie transfer :). My interview was by phone and I think it was like 30 minutes. But it seems to me that the longer you talk the better. If he wanted to end it he would have.

oo good job ILRers! i called to ask about scheduling an alumni interview, then was told to e-mail (which i did) and i never got a response so… eh.

and i guess now that i know decisions won’t come during break, i can relax. i hope everyone enjoys their time off!

I think my ILR interview was def. the weakest part of my transfer. We talked for about half an hour, and I was also all over the place… Not because I prepared lines, or anything, there are just so many reasons I like Cornell. I sounded like Palin on that Couric interview. =P

Oh I’m sure you were fine Viola, if you talked about how much you liked Cornell then that can’t be too much of a problem. I wonder how much emphasis they put on the interview though. I have a feeling that they put heavy weight on the supplement essay.

remy- for sure bro, have you gotten the new Ace CD? its fantastic! i remember i saw TEN at the knitting factory in the city and sergio did a stage dive with bass in hand from 10 feet up. fantastic! haha i recently met chris badami (produced all the TEN cds) and he told me about making those cds… i had a moment of nostalgia… it was fantastic. haha

and yeah, jason mraz is probably the only “pop” star that id buy a cd from! :] if youre interested, heres a youtube video of my old band (So Much For Sweet Talk) playing one of our acoustic songs. i think you might digg it (i had strep throat, so be gentle lol)

i wanted to say bye guys. i won’t be online for the next 8 or 9 days cause i’ll be away, hopefully not thinking about anything that has to do with school or transferring
for those of you who have off, have a great break and try to enjoy it!
and everyone else, have a good week anyway lol

Yep, you too! I’m on break too, but I’ll still be on =P

For the financial aid list, did they received your parent’s W-2 Forms? I have send my parent’s W-2 forms over a month ago and it still says that they didn’t received it yet.

amers: don’t worry about it. that’s what interviews are for! to talk. if i had that same mentality i’d feel pretty bad with mine. 50 minutes is great! mine lasted 40minutes (different school though). think of it this way, if the interviewer didn’t like you, that person probably would have cut it short.

brandnew: i haven’t listened to ace’s new solo project. i actually haven’t listened to those bands in so long! but i definitely have my respect for them. the last time i saw ten, sergio practically did flips off the wall and climbed the ceiling. he’s great to see live. - i remember watching those old drive thru dvd’s with TEN and chris. he seemed like a great guy.

 • I checked out your youtube video and i really like your voice. definitely catchy, do you still write music?

dragon: i’m on the same boat. I thought i sent my W-2’s but they are still requesting them…meh…p.s, sell your account. wow is crack.
