Who's applying for Fall transfer 09'-Cornell?

Yes, Redsox, ILR had begun to release decisions.

Hey guys, I called up the CALS admissions office and they said that if you’re application reads “under review” you should get your decision within the next ten business days!

That’s great for CALS applicants. Nevertheless, I think it’s important to understand that the various schools at Cornell do work differently. I asked ILR admissions whether I should have my decision within a week in it’s under review, and the lady told me it all depends on the committee memebers’ schedule.

Wow ILR decisions could potentially already be out?! I’ve looked through last years forums on this subject and the earliest I ever saw was around April 28th or so.
Some of which were rendered by phone (acceptances and rejections) and some through mail I believe. At any rate, I had most of my application submitted between early February but I’m a junior transfer so I wonder when I’ll receive a decision…this is exciting!

Have you all done your course requirement? hehe. Even if you havn’t make sure u add that u will finish the requirement over the summer!!

Yeah I believe I’ve done all the course requirements. If they have a question about one course (for example I took a Geology course to fulfill my science requirement) do you think they would reject me outright or would they contact me and ask me if I would choose to do a different requirement over summer?
This was one thing I was unsure about. Did anyone send in course syllabi to mediate this potential problem?

frankly, i have no idea if i’ve filled the course requirements, but i think i have. i’ve fullfilled them for Berkeley so I suppose I assumed this was enough. I’m pretty sure I’m good for my major.

weshallsee; i also took geology for physical science. love rocks.

I’m a little worried about that. ILR wants two writing intensive composition courses. I took British Literature, a 200-level course that was writing intensive, but that was the only one. I wouldn’t mind taking a writing seminar at Cornell, they sound like a lot of fun.

yeah, seriously viola. i would prefer to fill any holes in my transcript at cornell; my community college classes are a joke. i’ll be reporting my present english 5 (critical thinking) instructor to the english chair and the college dean.

I called CAS because the admissions representative said my decision would probably be availabe today. Now she said to call back friday! I can’t wait any longer!!! :-/

Yeah, Geology is cool. I would just hope Cornell thinks so too and gives me the science credit. My real worry (probably an unjustified one) is that they would have a problem with a certain requirement and just simply reject me because of it, without giving me a chance to tell them I would gladly take the requirement at a CC if it means I would be granted acceptance to Cornell.
Ha ha. Its just getting so close, I’m trying to cover all possible scenarios.

and does anyone have a CAS update?

Yep, I took Geology because I didn’t want to end up stuck in a lab (I don’t like Sciences). Much fun.

Geology rocks… No pun intended. Especially being in CA, its easy to see geological processes or remenants everywhere. I’ll miss the west coastline.

ilivefree, i used to live around that area as well but i moved to the central coast :stuck_out_tongue:
i WISH i could miss the west coastline lol!!

CC is driving me crazy. I’d get on once or twice a day before, but now I’m on here the whole day, and now that the decisions are actually coming out, I keep checking my email and online status. They update late at night, right?

Yeah, they update around 1-1.30 am EST. Remy was right. Mine updated around then. I’m on here all day every day as well. I just want my decision now.

I am glad my wait is over :)!!! I do not know why they emailed me my decision. I didn’t request it or anything. But hey!! I’m happy either way!!! :)… How come my status page didn’t update then? I got the email saying I was accepted but my status page didn’t have that red link to check my decision. O_O!!

Dragon, you have got to be the happiest person on earth right now. Let us know about housing as soon as you get it. I’d kill for a single next year.

Was your GPA exactly 3.80, or is it rounded?

My GPA was exactly 3.78 or 3.79 out of a 4.0 scale… I will let you guys know!! hehe.
