Who's applying for Spring transfer 10'-Cornell?

I could have sworn you were applying to ILR last year.

Maybe I’m thinking of viola?

yeah, probably. ILR isn’t for me, though the dean of admissions for ILR loves me lol

east, I did?? lol i don’t even remember.

I’m a girl also btw. I think everybody knows that already so its all good. How many females are applying this year??

East, What department from ILR you interested in?

Yea, I didn’t realize it until I searched through one of my older threads like a week ago (transfer chances to NYU and Emory.) You referred to me as her instead of him.

It’s good that there’s about three girls in this thread. Maybe I’ll have someone to date by the time I get to Cornell ;)

J/k (or maybe not :))

To answer the other question: Collective bargaining, Labor Law and Labor History

And feel free to call me Terron; East is my last name (you probably already know that though.)

the only reason i feel comfortable saying my essays are good is because i put my heart and soul into them this time. if i don’t get accepted (knock on wood), i’ll have nothing to write about the next time around because i really laid it all out this time. i’m hoping that it’s enough and that the adcoms can see how dedicated i am to this school. it would literally be a dream come true to go there. i’ve been there a bunch of times and i love it so much.

I’d still like to read your essays. I know they’re probably better than mine.

yeah, no problem. i’ll send them to the e-mail you gave me sometime tonight :)

Cool, thanks.

Not to be too intrusive, but I’d just like to ask: how would you rate mine on a scale of 1-10?

easy 9 (i never give 10s haha i’m a little harsh :stuck_out_tongue: ). your writing is seriously amazing. i’m jealous of your vocabulary and technique, and i think you tied things together nicely in your final version.

sent, by the way, so go check your e-mail haha

Terron, wow ur major is mouthful lol Im intimidated by it already lol

Did u guys joined the Spring Transfer 2010 fb group ???

Ironic:

Well I would have liked a perfect score (lol) but I really appreciate your opinion. And trust me, there’s no need to be jealous at all. I make a lot of egregious errors since I tend to be very loquacious in my essays and end up with a bunch of run-ons. Usually, I just write a bunch of random thoughts down and find some way to eventually connect them into a cohesive effort. I just got the e-mail on my blackberry, so I’ll check it when I get home.

Jemma:

It’s not actually a major, just a concentration. The only major available in ILR is ILR. To my knowledge, the concentrations can be fulfilled with a couple of courses which are specific to that field of study. And yea, I joined the group a little while ago.

My interning is over for the day, so I’m out. Later.

no, i’m paranoid and don’t want to jinx it! i’ll join when i get my acceptance package :-D

Same, also I haven’t let most people I know that I’m transferring, and facebook would just publicize it. Embarrassing especially if I get rejected…which hopefully I won’t >_>

May I just note that I really love midterms because they make weeks pass by extremely quickly.

ironic, would you want to swap essays with me? I just applied to Human Ecology as a Human Development major as well

I’m female, I swear!! Molly

I like my essay. I went from a little story on getting accepted, then having to turn it down because of financial problems and how I was completely crushed. Then I went into how I bounced right back, finished my spring semester well, and am cruising good this fall.

I only had one essay :stuck_out_tongue: But the common app smaller written portion I talked about how working at Target has helped me be a team player and understand the importance of a lot of things. My head hurts now…therefore my sentences not so Cornellian, haha.

I’ve been in the group awhile now, since Lacey created it. I’m Ryan over there btw, whenever you guys join. I’m confident on acceptance, but I’m still mildly worried…how often do you think someone gets in one semester then gets denied if they try to reapply? (Rawrrrr…they should have just deferred me…)

okay…i didn’t know east89 was a guy. I seriously thought u guys were ALL girls. I’m a guy by the way lol. now this cornell thread is turning into a discovery thread haha who’s a guy and who’s girl lol.

my application status changed to: Your materials have been received. Your application has been forwarded to the admissions staff for review.
OMG! any else get this?

haha i’m a girl too… and everyone should join the FB group anyway cause its for EVERYONE, not just people who got accepted like last semester. haha

oh, and my essay when i submitted it last semester, i opened it by talking about this one time at a debate tournament when i thought i was gonna throw up all over the desk

:P pretty sure my detailing won me points
