So far, I added TFN, Jemma and Ironic. If anyone else wants to be a part, just let me know. Also, if anyone wants to be unsubscribed or change e-mail addresses, just send me an e-mail.

Also, I’m not sure if the e-mail addresses which you guys gave me are your primary addresses, so I set up the system so that replies only go to sender of the original message just to avoid any unnecessary clutter in our inboxes. (that way, we don’t all get the critiques of each others essays.) Because of this, if you intend to send a message which you want to be recieved by all members of the group, make sure to create a new e-mail, not a reply.

If there’s any comments, questions or concerns about the groups, feel free to PM me, send me an e-mail (preferably) or just leave a message in this thread. Hopefully, this idea catches on and other transfer threads will implement the same system.

And to answer your question, TFN, no; I didn’t see the point.

I did Guys, Im reading ur essays in like 2 hours. I’ve been at the doctors office all day boo!!! But will read them promise!! Youll get ur response tomorrow during the day!

Does Cornell base their decisions on the midterm report or on your final marks? If it is on the midterm report and you receive an offer, can they rescind your offer if they see a dramatic decline in your final marks?

No problem. From what I’ve read, it’s a copy of the typical tax stuff. I’m sure we’ve all filled it out for financial aid from our current institutions.

Also, I got a booklet with information for transfer students today in the mail from Cornell. I expect you’ll all be getting it sometime soon.

I wouldn’t worry about final marks. Just don’t fail every class (or a class, preferably), and you should be fine.
If anything, giving up your social life for a month to maintain that high GPA might be worth it =D.

I know someone who was accepted for a transfer (to U Mass, Amherst) and she was kicked out of 2 out of 5 classes because she had stopped attending completely. Her acceptance by some miracle wasn’t rescinded. But I think she had the Dean’s recommendation behind her.

I sent in all my FinAid within the first week of September, wanted to not have to worry about that while I was here.

I have one fun weekend coming up in two weeks where I’m visiting a Binghamton friend, but that’s after my first chem test. Except that weekend and work, I have no social life for Oct/Nov haha. So my midterm grades better be spankin’ >:[

i just need to send a midterm update and then i’m done with everything. i’ll get the instructor to do it tomorrow and then i’ll send it out thursday. i have nothing fun planned. the ex is coming from cornell this weekend for his october break and i’m less than thrilled and we’ll see what happens. i’m actually really stressed about a lot of things, so maybe getting this one last piece of mail out will help so it’s one less thing to worry about. cornell, accept me. thanks, love you, bye.

TFN, Its the css profile, FAFSA, FA application and taxes. I recommend you to send that like yesterday. I talked to one of the FA advisors and they told me to whatever I did send the FA stuff by deadline (which was Oct 1). That meeting deadline was crucial. So if I were you send them as soon as possible.

This weekend has a very special meaning. If I feel better (damn flu!), on Sunday, Ill be doing the 5k Race for the Cure of Susan G. Komen!!! I’m the most active person in the world but I am really excited. It has a very special meaning. My bff’s mom died in Sept. So we are doing it for her!! Also, I’m doing a cupcake sale in her honor!!

Which reminds me, when we all get accepted (it doesn’t hurt to be positive), Im thinking of throwing a huge dinner for all of us at Cornell. I volunteer to cook!!! Maybe bring some puerto rican flavor to the table! I think it will be great. Ok, Im outs I feel the Nyquil kicking in. nitez

Ironic, You’ll see. Sending the last forms will basically feel a bit liberating. I was quite *****y during the last days and my family was so happy when it was over. I was in such a better mood! LOL So trust me those last forms will make you feel a bit more at ease. Im sure Cornell’s spy read your message and they are taking it into account ;)

East. I joined the group

to all of those who sent me the essays, Ill send you my feedback tomorrow! xx <3

ACK. Wait…I can’t remember correctly…do you guys think if I had to reapply, they would have kept my FA forms? I don’t think I covered that with Cathy (I’ll wait to see if she responds to my e-mail/call if she doesn’t.)

I mean, my forms/FA package was for the '09-'10 school year…so our data hasn’t changed for it.

And yeah, jemma, that sounds awesome! We could all bring something and do like a pot-luck (sort-of…) dinner. Or buy something, since some of us are cooking impaired, hahaha. It’d be a good little get-together, and we WILL all make it!

Water, on the site, I believe it specifically states that if you reapply, you must fill the necessary forms out again. I’ll see if I can find that link again.

Water… I’m a GT & I didn’t have to reapply for FA. I called them and was told that they have all of the info from last semester’s application. I’ll have to reapply for Fall '10.

=o my application has been forward to admissions for review =o

But I checked my fin aid to do list and it says they HAVEN’T received my parents or my tax returns, which I definitely sent in a while ago.
I guess I should call?

Az, if i were you, i would go ahead and give them a call

finally my unchecks are all off. but i dont see “your application has been forward to admissions from review”…oh ill just give it some time and it should…
now i just have to wait…till December or whatever…i will seriously need prayers coz i dont have 3.8 or anything. you guys are seriously in the top 1 percent. ive never seen anyone on campus having as good as 3.8 or better except one who graduated with the highest honor…

valvsu…don’t stress, I think that Cornell looks at more than your GPA. Make sure that you show true passion for your major w/ec’s, campus jobs, etc.

as far as the Fin Aid to do list goes, mine never said they received my tax returns from 2008 so i was freaking out but I emailed them and they said I’m not missing anything. Just give them a call to double check in a week or two… if you do it now, it might not have been processed yet.
