Who's applying for Spring transfer 10'-Cornell?

T_T the apartment I wanted is no longer listed, even though I contacted the person like 5 months ago, dammit!

So if accepted to Cornell: -Go to a frat party. I’ve gone to ONE that was decent at Brown U. exactly one year ago (on Halloweeeen), and got totally smashed. Lol. Never went to one after that.
-Enjoy having an ACTUAL college life and join student groups. Maybe a cappella. And contribute art to student publications, since I’ll be giving up that part of me.
-Sleep in a science library. Hehe.
-Play tons of halo and video games.
-Hang out with the bf, lots… etc. etc.

if accepted to cornell:

 • love up on andy every single day
 • go to tons of frat parties and possibly pledge
 • actually be a college student
 • parasail at the lake
 • walk around beebe for andy and my 2 year anniversary
 • learn how to play the chimes
 • tons more stuff

If accepted to Cornell:
-possibly pledge?
-Go to frat parties (I don’t drink, but I love parties/people/crazy fun)
-Try out for the tennis club, though they only accept 25 guys/25 girls so I dunno if I’d make it lol
-Join the student transfer committee, possibly run for a position
-Any type of student government at Cornell, I’d like to get involved
-SNOWBALL FIGHT ON THE BIG HILL <3 loll, i think we can all agree on that one
-Take Japanese, booyah.
-Like ironic said, be a REAL college student.
-Have a dorm, finalllyyyy. Haha, still tossing between single/double.
-Maybe do some contributions to the Cornell Daily Sun.

-Az, I’m with you on a capella, but only if we manage to start a club like Glee. I’ve had no singing experience, but I always wanted to.

Haha, I used to sing (was in the metropolitan youth chorus or whatever). Something else I gave up on a while ago. But I’m absolutely terrible at dancing, except for Chinese fan/chopstick dance. Lol. So I’d probably be no good at Glee Club xD I believe Cornell does indeed have a glee club, separate from their many a cappella groups, because I remember my boyfriend’s friend tried out for glee club.

I’m thinking about joining a fraternity. I haven’t a clue how it works. What does it take to get into one of the upper tier frats?/ how much do these things generally cost?

If accepted:

-First cry with unbelievable joy (the nightmare would be over)
-Join an entrepreneurial focused student group
-Join a frat to meet new people (watedept I as well do not drink)
-Watch the sunset on the Big Hill
-Buy a nice big Cornell sweater (maybe even a hat)
-Join the Cornell network on Facebook and leave my current one (lol)
-Watch a Cornell vs. Harvard hockey game
-find the love of my life (hopefully)
-Gorge jumping
-Go snowboarding
-Tryout for the Cornell varsity Soccer team (big maybe though)
-Be a real college student (my commuter school makes this real hard)
-Go on an exchange (sadly that would mean one less semester at Cornell)

ahaha Riley, Lacey would just block the coffee instantly with her super bra from Victoria Secret. You didnt know she had super powers?

If accepted to Cornell, I will sit in that Hogwarts room of the Uris Library the first evening and just take in the pride of being part of it. ‘Cornell’ says is all.

waterdept how do you feel being the only one not drinking at a party? I usually get interrogated for why I dont drink. Then my peers usually try to peer pressure me to drink by offering to buy me drinks and bribing with lots of money if I just take a sip (lol). What’s your experiences?

I really think I would have a hard time fitting into a frat just because I don’t drink. I mean I know some frats even make you do some sort of drinking as part of the whole initiation process. I read for a Harvard’s final club (not really a frat) they made kids drink until they were wasted and forced them to swim across the lake naked while being drunk. Now that’s some hard stuff!

If I get accepted:

 • i will thank for Cornell admissions
 • i will make sure to prove their decision wasn’t wrong by showing academic excellence
 • study very hard in the library
 • become acquainted with the professors
 • graduate with an honor
 • make their name more renown by becoming a national figure
 • find my special someone (hopefully)

i forgot something important. i will thank my parents for their help

I think you’re all severely underestimated the joy of throwing things at Lacey’s face

Hey guys, what did you all do last night?

I was back home this weekend, so I went out “trick-or-treating” for a bit… and yes I felt a little bit too old but at least I got to let the kid inside me get out for about an hour or so. Later, we went to a friend’s house with the intention of watching a scary movie, but as it turns out, none of us really like scary movies so we played some Wii and then tuned in to SNL. Was a pretty fun night since I got to meet up with people from high school and spend some time with them…

Hope everyone had a fun (and safe) time!

First of November… really feels like the moment is getting closer and closer…

If I get accepted into Cornell, I will (in chronological order):

-Tell my family, friends and co-workers
-Thank Ian again for giving me this opportunity
-Post my acceptance letter up on the wall of the office in my house
-Buy a Cornell sweatshirt and wear it for a week straight (I’ll wash it, of course)
-Enjoy the extended break which I’ll receive in the winter (my fall semester ends on December 9th and Cornell’s spring semester doesn’t begin until The last week of January, I believe)
-Get a single room on campus
-Make new friends and possibly get a new gf
-Get a new job
-Study like there’s no tomorrow
-Graduate magna cumme laude

has anyone else heard?

Oh here’s some things I forgot.
-Well I already own a Cornell sweatshirt from visiting last spring, and I wub it.
-Girlfriend would be nice. Still working on that here at home though. Not sure if having a girlfriend at Cornell would be the best of ideas (I mean what if she’s from Alaska…kinda hard to keep that one going, lol.)
-STUDY LIKE A BIZNATCH (yeah, I said it)
-Screw you, east, my break is barely a month (my community college’s last final is on the freaking 23rd, what. the. eff.)
-Tell EVERYONE (again, yeesh)
-Moms gonna frame the acceptance letter haha

@Az: Haha, I know what the Cornell Glee club is, and it’s actually very proper, they don’t sing music that you can really have fun to like a capella clubs do. That’s actually more like what glee clubs are everywhere. What I meant was Glee as in the tv show, so more like an a capella in that sense, where it’s modern music and I guess dancing. But if there aren’t already clubs like that, I’d probably just do something crazy for a talent show.

@TFN: Haha, on that topic, I don’t know if you commute to an actual community college or if you commute to a state/private school, but I’m at a CC. So since only like, 3-4 of my closer friends live around here with me still, I don’t go to parties with them or anything. I actually barely ever see the kids from my classes, so not much friend/party potential.

The 2-3 times I’ve been to parties was in latter high school/summer for grad parties/a few overnights at Siena College which is near Albany where my best friend goes. Definitely some slight pressure to drink, but I just kind of brightly smile back and be like ‘nah bro I’m good thanks’. My friend there doesn’t drink either, but because he acts bright and outgoing, people don’t bug him about it (not that much anyway, besides they like that he’s a fun designated driver, loll.) At Cornell I doubt we’ll need any DD’s though…everything’s pretty walkable (can’t think of why anyone would leave Ithaca for parties…there’s nothing but cows nearby.)

My friend actually taught me some tricks, I’ll fill you in when he reminds me what they are lol.

@Calp: Nope, nobody else has heard back  I’m thinking you were a special exception because you had applied so many times, haha. Hoping the same goes for a guy who got in last semester…crossing my fingers for all next week!

I think tomorrow (Monday) some people will be having a very good day

Or a very bad day =(.
Wateradept, long distance isn’t so hard as long as you have an established base behind it! My boyfriend and I have a dating history since the sixth grade (with some breaks in between…ah, adolescence’s stupidity) and are still going strong despite the distance. Though I’m definitely not saying you have to have been dating for the past 8 years to succeed. It’s just a matter of making the time to webcam/IM/text, and getting to know each other very well. Vacations between the school year are small compared to the school year itself. Besides, Cornell has sooo many people, chances are you’ll find the right one!

RISD has a ridiculously small winter vacation, it’s literally 2 weeks long. We have to be back at school Jan 3rd. So if I go to Cornell, vacation is extended up to Jan 25th. Sweet!

talking about cornell depresses me. i’ll be there next week though
my internet is also gone in my house until tuesday. i’m currently at my school stealing my friends computer and using their internet lol

tomorrow? that’s way too soon! but i think by the end of this week/beginning of next week is fair game?

^ wholeheartedly second Viola
