Who's applying to FAMU

Biology/Biomedical Sciences…
Around The Track Of Pre-Med…
What about you?
And what other colleges are you interested in?

@Illregular diamond is the best / biggest female hall and there is cable.

Sidenote: Im currently attending FAMU, I got accepted into the Pharmacy/MBA program there. If you have any questions send me a message on here… but I rarely come on.

^^^Should we be worried we didn’t get our acceptance letter yet, when we applied in October?

and my major is pre-pharmacy. I also applied to usf and got accepted there. I also applied to uf, but I won’t know the decision until february. I’m thinking about applying to fsu’s care program.

@ABDC11 no you shouldnt they are slower since they dont have as many people working as most colleges do. But FAMU is the way to go for pharmacy.

Alright then. Hopefully I get my letter and FA package soon.

How diverse is the college of pharmacy from the rest of the school?

Hi guys, I’m new on the site.

I applied to FAMU in mid to late November,
a couple weeks late I got a letter saying they needed rec. letters.

I never sent them,
and last week I got a letter offering me a full ride + room/board.
The funny thing is I never got an acceptance letter lol

I am not sure if I want to go.
I also got into FSU

I either want to major in History & PoliSci, then go to law school
or do Pharmacy.

I have no clue.

Any opinions?

WOW I haven’t been on here in a long time, and I log in to see alot of comments…
Well, CONGRATULATIONS to those accepted, and GOOD LUCK to those who are still waiting.
If you read the first pages of this thread, you’ll see that alot of us here have been in the same situation as you, and now look at us, most of us just finished our first semester of our Freshman year here @ FAMU ;)

I even meet some people at Famu who posted at this forum who are majoring in pharmacy with me. So maybe that will be you guys come next fall :D

Nonetheless Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!!

@xoxosmf, I think it honestly depends how important cost is to you. If you can afford FSU and that’s where your heart is, pick FSU. On the other hand, if cost is the most important thing to you then maybe FAMU would be best so you can complete college debt free. It’s up to you!

I know FAMU has a law program, but I’m not sure of how “good” the program is. You may want to look into that. I know FAMU’s pharmacy program is outstanding, which makes it diff. from FSU because FSU only has pre-pharmacy; not the 4 years of graduate school after.

My advice to you is go where your heart is. FAMU would be a great choice if your set on pharmacy, but since you’re unsure, it makes things a bit more difficult. Do a bit more research and decide.

good luck! (:

Also, what were your ACT/SAT/GPA? I’m curious to know what it takes to get a full ride to FAMU.

Cost is a huge factor because my family can afford approximately NOTHING.

& I have a 27 ACT/3.85 weighted GPA.

To get the full ride you need a 3.5 & a 27.

Bright Futures Scholarship you need a 3.5 & a 28.

I retook the ACT 2 weeks ago & results come out Dec 27

I am almost positive that I will have a higher score.

Interesting. Good job on your accomplishments!

Also, Apparently FSU has one of the best political science programs in the nation. Just a little bit more for you to reflect on.

@ABCD11 i had this longggg well thought out response for you but i pressed backspace to correct a spelling error and it all deleted… long story short its pretty diverse.

Hi everyone Im new to this and I saw this post and really wanted to join.Im Senior in High School now and I really want to go to FAMU.But I have SAT Scores 0f 1180 and 18 on ACT and I know they are very low but Im going to take them over. You guys dnt understand FAMU is my dream school.Do you guys think I have a chance of getting in. My GPA is 3.0w/2.7uw

@Ava999 how did you do and do you like it there…

Mike, Is that your SAT score with or without writing?
What kind of classes did you take in HS?
What’s your major?

I think you definitely have a chance if you didn’t apply for a limited access program. Did you apply yet? If not, you should apply ASAP.

You should definitely get your test scores up though and send it to them.

Thanks @abdc11 and thats my SAT score with writing and I took Honors Courses and I was once a 3.1 GPA student but my junior year I lost 3 important people in my life in a hate crime in Africa and I had to stay up there for a while and I failed because the teachers didnt put my make up work but Im taking ACT in Febuary and SAT in March but I heard you are suppose to have a 1450 and a 21 from the website…But im really pancking yo because if I dnt get in im done for my mom has hopes in me :(

The average FAMU freshman has a 19 ACT w/ a 3.0 GPA. Since your GPA is slightly below their average, I’d try to get a higher test score. like a 21+ I think would be greattt. Try your hardest and relax. Make sure you send your letters of recommendation as well.

Do you think I would have a better chance to get in if I applied as undecided with a 3.0 and 18 on ACT and 1180 on SAT :frowning: I don’t think im going to get in

i applied for journalism and i heard thats a limited access program…do you think i could change my major to another to give me a best chance…im pancking someone help me !!!

@Mike92: I had a 21 ACT, and 3.8 gpa and I took college classes while in high School.
My major is pharmacy and business and I REALLY like Famu. People said that it would be ghetto, but I don’t think its ghetto. Are there ghetto people? Yes. But not like the way people were telling me. People pretty much over-exaggerate on Famu, but when you get here its really not bad. I actually really like it here. And I made new friends and enjoyed my time here so far.
