Who's applying to FAMU

I have no idea

I’ve applied to FAMU & just recently got my notice

@teayona did you get in?

I just got an invitation for interview @FAMU college of pharmacy. has anybody been to the interview process, what type of questions were they asking? what is the layout on the interview day? any hint is welcome…

I applied to FAMU about 2 weeks ago.
My SAT scores and transcript didnt get sent until about a week ago.
I have a GPA of 3.67 and a SAT of 1220(Should’ve taken it again)
I also run track(this makes 4 years)
and I’m the president of the Black student Union
I also am apart of Link Crew which is a “big buddy” system for freshmans.
I also used ■■■■■■■■■■ and they said I have a very good chance of getting in, though I know it’s not accurate.
How long does it Usually take to get a decision letter?

@gdarring93 don’t worry you’ll get in…don’t need to stress. I got in just for having a high gpa (that’s what the admission lady told me) and yours is higher than mines so you should get in. If you haven’t call the admission office to make sure that they have all your information ask them that you want to check your admission status.

does anyone have info on the summer freshman studies program?

Is it hard to get into famu?

As of 2010? No. 2011? Maybe. Last year you could get in with a 2.0. Now, with all the restructuring going on that might change. But it’ll still be easier than FSU, UCF, UF, and USF

From what I can tell reading FAMU’s admission page they are now breaking out minimum scores for each section on the SAT. That and a minimum GPA of 2.5 as “recalculated” by FAMU.

I am wondering how flexible they are with these specific requirements because there is still a goal to have “profile admits”.

“AlternaIve Admission (Profile Assessment): Applicants who are not eligible for standard admissions”

“Goal is to enroll at most 1500 profile admits”

The current boat we are in is:

GPA - 3.0
SAT – Critical Reading 550
SAT – Mathematics 420
SAT – Writing 560

Combined SAT of 1530

Also, the web site contradicts itself a bit and list the incoming should have a combined SAT score of 1450.

So my question is as of right now what are the chances???

See Admissions info below:

I recently got accepted to FAMU!!! Im a transfer student from Cali so ill be a junior this fall. I wanted to know approximately how many juniors/seniors choose to stay on campus? I would rather be around students in my age group, and Ive already experienced staying on campus and being “independent.” What’s important to me is being able to meet people considering that I have no family or friends in Florida.

@dezieRAY like you said you already experienced the campus life and what not but on the other hand you are new to Florida with no family or friends…My best option for you is to stay on the campus Apartments they are 10-13 minutes off campus and more Juniors and Sophomores your age stay around there…All athletes have to stay there till senior year so you will have a variety of people in your age group and you will still be connected to the campus to find out about parties…easier to get to class…etc You wouldn’t really want a dorm on campus because mostly Freshman’s like me will be staying there and it will a whole different vibe since your older a more mature you basically know the college life…Well Congrats !!! See You There :)

@ Mike92: Thanks so much! Do u happen to know the names of the apartments?

This is my first Post but I have always read everyones Posts… But now Im getting really annoyed I applied for FAMU early MAY (Really late) but not the deadline I keep checkin my irattler and it says SAT scores “initiated” what does that mean??
