Who's applying to FAMU

i was wondering can you still get in to famu if you been suspended or got a referral?

at lola –> you can… i’ve been suspended before, but i still got in.

i just got accepted to famu, im excited!

rmdozier whoa! thanks i need that because maaan i was stressing…

As far as being suspended is concerned is that what is meant by the following question on the application(see below):

“Are you currently or have you ever been, charged with or subject to disciplinary action for scholastic or an other type of misconduct at any educational institution?”

Other than that how would they know if a student was suspended?

yea u got a point…

Thinking about it.

How hard is it to get into the pre-pharmacy program really?

is it true famu accept people with a 3.0 gpa regardless of test scores…when the college recalculate your GPA?

http://pharmacy.famu.edu/bluepill.php?sect=includes/studentservices/prepharmprog</a></p>

@lola662 Test scores due matter. With low test Scores you may not get accepted or you may have to take College prep classes. FAMU tries to gives every student an opportunity to attend a 4 year University, but that doesn’t mean FAMU doesn’t mean FAMU doesn’t take academics serious because they do and if your here your taking it serious you will be gone by Spring Semester.

What classes are “not” counted when a students GPA is recalculated?

The way it reads in the catalog is that any elective as well as PE is not counted. So that would leave just Math, English, Science, History and your Foreign language.

@famuhelper…i called the people at famu…they told u can still get accepted if u have a 3.0 when they recalculated…i have a 20 both times i took it but the problem is…the math i need a 19…so im retaking the ACT n ima send an updated transcript late january…so hopefully i’ll get accepted i really want to go to famu =(

@tusk91 if u speaking about colleges

than its the electives…colleges look at core course such as math read english science and history

I got accepted for Fall 2012, has anyone else been accepted, and do you know when we’ll get Financial Aid info?

Just a question, but how hard is it to get into the prepharmacy program at famu?
whats the average gpa acceptance?

It can be tough because the suggested requirements listed below:

http://pharmacy.famu.edu/bluepill.php?sect=includes/studentservices/prepharmprog</a></p>

Those are not so much “suggested” as they are desired. Because there is so many students trying to go into Pharmacy they use those requirements as a weed out. Many students actually end up going to FAMU and majoring in Biology and take all of there pre-requisits for pre-pharm.

According to the Pharmacy department being in the pre-pharm program doesn’t give you any edge on being accepted into the professional program. So all is not lost if you do get rejected for pre-pharmacy.

ok, because im just freaking out because i applied and im currently waiting on my letter.

Just hang in there because ultimately it doesn’t matter according to the college of Pharmacy. You can choose any major just as long as you get all of the pre-reqs done. If your grades are good in those, say 3.0 and above then you will most likely will get into the professional program.

But, best of luck on getting into the pre-pharm program because that is an accomplishment if you do no doubt.

Just keep in mind that for some reason if you didn’t it is not the end of the world.

The timing is good because by the time you will be trying to get into that professional program the new Pharmacy wing is to be complete. I was told that once that is done they may go from allowing 150 students in the professional program to allowing 200 or more in!
