yea nat and timmy I’m also in the same boat as yall, but I’m still going to apply ED simply because its my first choice. Every time I went to visit GW they seemed pretty confident in being able to meet my need plus I’ve gone to online EFC calculators and there around the area my parents can pay. So i pretty confident I’ll get the need I want. I think the main thing is just having trust in the school. PLus the worst cause scenario is you tell the school you cant pay for it.

sent my app in and i really hope i get in!!!

we find out around december 15th right??

Hey guys I’m applying E.D. to the Elliot School. Loved GW, its urban campus, political opportunities, and the dorm housing.

Hey guys im also applying ED to the Elliot School! i had no intention of living in DC before i visited GW and loved it i really hope i get in. good luck to all of u!

ED admissions are up 24% this year. And the university is accepting less students than last year, in part because more students came than expected. So admissions will be tough this year

Good luck to the two of you applying to the Elliott School! I’m applying there regular decision and maybe we’ll see each other there next fall! Have you guys picked a concentration or a language you want to study? I haven’t picked an exact major in the Elliott School, but hope to study Arabic.

how hard is it to get into GWU? Also how good is their undergrad business program? Because i refuse to believe that it is as bad as what business news and newsweek rank it.

My d’s friend applied ED needed lots of aid and got it. GWU has a large endowment. so Ihear. but I ma not expert just one example.

Um well I noticed on college board the number of ed applicants last year and the number accepted last year. I think its for both ed1 and ed2 but i calculated the percent number accepted divided by number applied and i think i got a % around like 66%

I applied in February for Fall 09 admission. However, my app was accepted, but bumped to the Spring. There were too many transfers for fall. However, all I am waiting for now is my financial aid. I heard they are extremely generous, but not so much with the spring transfers, according to someone in the financial aid office I spoke to

I had my interview today and it was soooooooooooooooo bad…i hope this doesn’t factor too much in their decision…anyone know?

^
Thats the entire point of interviews, help give a better ideal of you being a candidate for admission.

What makes you state the interview was horrible. Oh yeah, did you go to Washinton D.C, did they come to you…?

the interviewer was really bad (yes i refuse to take the blame). She kept rewording the same question over and over again…i can only say how awesome DC is so many times. She also wrote excruciatingly slow…it ruined the flow of the conversation…I would finish my point and then there would be an awkward silence of 2 minutes where she was writing my answer which made me very uncomfortable…The interviewer basically came to me. The regional admission offficer…Dr. Greenburg…who is amazing…sets up three weekends at a boarding school 30 minutes outside of Boston for the New england area and brings about 20 interviewers with him. Im not sure if they do that everywhere. I also felt that format made the interview less personal and more intimidating, as i was probably the 20th student she had seen that weekend.

Your interviewer might have been trying to get you to say more about the school and less about the city through asking different questions to steer you that way. Just because DC is awesome doesn’t make the school good for you. If you write a good Why GW? essay and go into some of the things at the school that interest you I am sure you can overcome a so-so interview.

yea…in my answer i included how i love the political culture on campus, the internships, the quality of professors, the real life experience yadda yadda yadda

I just read on another thread that a person has already been accepted to GW. Is this even possible?

I think that was a transfer student.

Yes, its possible. I applied for last semester, but they were too full, so they accepted me for this spring.

Is anyone else waiting for their financial aid?

can some one give me their thoughts? do you think i could get into GW?
