no, but the app has to be in by some time in feb/march i think. turn it in asap, cuz chances go down as time progresses

Dusk2k, your SAT score will make up for your GPA

I went to Michigan's info session at my school last week and they said they redo your GPA. They only use academic classes from 10th and 11 grade and for them an A- and an A are worth the same, and a B-, B, and B+, ect are all the same in their scale. they just throw out pluses and minuses and just use the letter grade. So try converting your GPA and see how that looks. I go in there w/ a 4.0 (on their scale) and a 1450 SAT

bump bump bump =)

I am out of state but have a 1480 SAT, 750 SAT2 average, top 5%, dedicated ECs, great recs, and a decent essay.

If I get my application out within the next week or so do I still have a good chance for admission to UM?

a friend of mine sent his app last year late november w/ a 1350 and 3.7 and got in

bumping one more time

Applied less than a week ago, College of Engineering

GPA: 4.0 UW (10 APs taken through senior year)
Rank: 1/343
SAT: 1410 (780M, 630V)
SAT2s: 800 IIC, 690 Physics, 670 Writing
ECs: Two major clubs (leadership positions in both), outside research internship
Essays: Decent to Good
Recs: Good to Great
Community Service: 2 main programs

Out of State

Am I in?

yeah you are in with 10 a.p's and a 1410 with an 800 SAT II. You are in to Michigan

Got in with 3.8/4.3 GPA and 1380 SAT. Nothing spectacular as far as EC's, but I think they base their decisions mostly on stats because they are such a big school.

I live in Michigan and I'm applying...just haven't written my essays yet...they have rolling admissions and will not even look at the app until EVERYTHING is sent in, FYI. And I'm thinking this is my safety. Am I wrong??

Some of my stats:
rank 3/350
GPA 4.2 weighted
SAT math 750, verbal 720; writing 740, mathII 740, US history 630...yeah
AP: 5 for calc, lang/comp, stats; 4 for US History, gov't.

EC: cello - principal chair in my city's youth symphony for 2 yrs, awards etc; also many piano awards. No sports though.

It sounds like a lot of us posting on here will get in.

Is everyone taking into account that umich counts only your sophomore and junior year grades? Im pretty sure they look at all of your grades from high school but they rely strongly on those 2 years for the calculation of gpas.
