I went to an overnight program and filled out the preliminary app I guess.
I got an email saying all I needed to complete my app was SAT scores and transcript… but what do I REALLY need to complete my app. I keep calling the Office of Admission and I get the same ***** old lady who refuses to answer my questions.

All you need to complete your application are SAT scores and your official transcript (you don’t need a counselor rec). I don’t understand what else you would need…

A teacher rec and an essay are optional.

Well yeah thats what I meant. Should I submit the rec and essay? and what about SAT2 scores?

If you want to be considered for the UHC and for scholarships, I believe you MUST submit a rec and an essay. Either way, there’s no harm in it, is there?

Nope
Also, can I be in the business school AND be in the honors college or is the honors college just honors of arts and sciences type thing?

yes you can be in both

Let me try to revive this thread:
Daughter is applying to the School of Nursing and we received notice today that her application is “complete”. Sent in an essay with the application and the GC department is forwarding her LORs.

Also applying to:
Case & U Penn

Did she just note her name and some ID number on the essay? How did you assure that it made it to the application folder?

The online application had a portion for you to “upload” an attachment (essay). She submitted her application and essay at the same time.

aglages –

Did you get notification of the application being “complete” via snail mail or the online self-servic portal? I’m wondering how often / quickly Pitt updates the online info. D2’s application status is still “incomplete” (only missing the HS transcript).

She requested the transcript from school on Sept 2nd and we’re hoping it would get there by now. If the online status is still showing “incomplete” at the end of this week, I’m trying to figure out if we start the paper-trail search at the HS end or at Pitt’s end.

D2 is also applying for Nursing. Let’s keep our fingers crossed for both D’s!

I received notification from the online portal when I checked it Friday (9-11). Our HS sent us a post card on September 7th indicating that they mailed the transcript on that date. We actually put the request in two weeks earlier and it took that long for our HS to “process” the request. BTW - we live in W-PA.

Good luck to your daughter! Is she applying anywhere else besides Pitt? Maybe they’ll be classmates.

Thanks. It looks like Pitt keeps the online portal updated regularly, so if we don’t see anything by the end of this week I’ll have D nudge the GC.

D2 also applied to Bloomsburg as a safety, and plans to apply to Penn State and UDel.

I’m expecting that Pitt will start releasing decisions around October 5th (first Monday of the month)… does this sound about right? I can’t wait any longer! I’m so excited :)

I was told that the committees don’t even start meeting until the ninth. That’s what I was told when I applied in August.

^^^^
I heard the first week of October also. But then again everybody I talk to at Pitt admissions says the same thing about applying: “The sooner the better”.

The sooner the better is good advice – rolling admissions! Last year, they had lots more students enrolling than anticipated so I wonder if they will lower their admit number.

I was told the 9th was the start date also.

My daughter is also applying to Pitt–in the Arts & Sciences school.

Im getting my transcript sent next week and I already have my online application sent. Will it be one time for the oct read?

wow i said one…i meant on*
