does anyone know whether ethnicity plays a part in siena's selection process?
A friend of mine has lower credentials than most applicants (including myself) and no medicine-related ec's or volunteer experience, but he received an interview from Siena...
he is a minority, race-wise.

Well given the situation you just presented to us I guess a huge factor since a lot of us have a lot of volunteer/medical experience.

I'm a bit surprised I didn't get Siena but got Union...strange cause I have a ton of volunteering and community service.

Did you just get into Union undergrad, and will find out about the Leadership in Medicine program later, or did you already find out that you got into the program?

Either way, congratulations.

rejected siena
were we supposed to find out about union too? or is it the same thing for both?

I meant got Union interview ro.

Ohh, true.

Good luck with that, man.

rejected from siena :-/

i only got my AMC supplement yesterday..
az1698, how soon did u find out about the interview after u filled out the supplement?

once you turn in the AMC application, it takes 3-5 days to process it
and then once it's processed, they make a decision and let you know if you received an interview.

yep, I found out like 6 days after

S was invited to interview for AMC-RPI program. It seems odd that they don't offer to house the student but merely give a list of hotels. Since RPI is close, the interviewees visit both campuses.
Do the other joint AMC programs pay for the interview trip and/or house the student?

Union didn't -

Interviews are at your own expense. Perhaps you could call RPI Admissions & ask if your son could stay with a student overnight. If he is driving himself to RPI then he would drive over to the med school the next morning. If not then he'd take a taxi.

Have any of you visited the Siena campus?

or Albany Medical College?

I've vistied AMC. It was nice, I got a tour and all. But the bad part was it was freeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeezing.

Haha yeah, I bet! I've only seen it on google earth =P
Did you have your interview with Union yet?

i just got an interview for union and rpi- my interviews are on the 13th of february, but i'm going to see if i can change the date
