Who's applying to the same college as you?

Last year I’d say the safety for the AP students was UIUC and Lewis University (2 minutes away from my school). I got rejected from UIUC and Lewis lost my transcript.
One guy was also applying to the naval academy but luckily he dropped out of the long process  I did not have a lot of competition last year.

A couple of people I know are applying RD, but nobody else ED.

humurously enough, I'm #2 on my class, and the #1 person is applying to the same place.

^ same goes for me.

3 is as well.

No one else @ my school is going for the same Early school as me, so that's one thing. I know at least one who's applying to every one of my other schools though.

No one for my early school. They're all too scared. :P

But PLENTY for my RD schools.

No one else for any of my schools. Partly due to my class' lack of ambition, and partly due to some of my schools' relative obscurity.

oh, you meant for ED/EA?

Scratch my original comment, then.

No one's applying to my early school, and only one person in the entire school is applying to any of my RD schools (just one of them though).

i'm the only D in my school...

no one in my class even went when then representative of my #1 school came, so im the only one thank god

From my school? No one. I think I'm one of the first to apply to Georgetown in recent history.

Well, I'm not applying anywhere ED/EA, but the niece of one of the McCabes goes to my school and is also applying to Swarthmore. If anyone knows anything about Swarthmore, the name will ring a bell. (Not that I'm paranoid that a sort of distant familial tie will hurt me, I just thought it was a cute story).

No one is applying to any of the other schools that I am except for the state university and the state liberal arts college.

I am the only one applying ED to my school. Probably some others RD. But none that I've talked to.

My best friend, who is Valedicatorian of our class, applied to Loyola in New Orleans. So did I. We both got in. About three other people are applying to Howard and one girl is applying to Fordham.

How do you guys feel about knowing others are applying to your same schools? Is it a comfort to personally know others in the same boat as you, and from your same area? or does it make you nervous that you may be compared against each other, or that (gasp) more people=more competition? or Indifferent :p?

I'm applying ED to UPenn. I know about 3 kids applying ED and about 15 going RD.

I go to a public high school in Illinois. Out of ~400 kids in my class, 60% are applying to a four year college or university. (So ~240 kids) 95 are applying to UIUC, and I know at least 30 people applying to UW-Madison. I didn't apply to either; in fact, I seem to be the only one applying to small, private colleges.

A couple people from my school are applying to my ED school, but I don't think anyone is applying there ED. As for my RD schools... I have no idea.

like little wings, i come from a large public high school in Illinois. Out of 600 kids i would say at least 80 are applying to UIUC, about 30 are applying to Northwestern, and probably 40 are applying to Madison. I would say of those applying, at least 70% applied to Illinois, Wisconsin, Iowa or Indiana. There are a fair amount of people in my school applying to LACs but the majotity are applying to a Big Ten School
