Who's applying to the same college as you?

Most kids at my school are applying to big universities and the big universities that I'm applying to (UMd, everyone applies here form my school; U Delaware, U South Carolina) there are a bunch of kids applying to those along with me. As for the smaller, less known schools like Smith, Lafayette, Lehigh even... I think I am the only one. I know kids applying to Stanford, UPenn, Yale, all the big ones but only a few are applying to smaller LACs...

Most of people at my school (NYC public) are goin to SUNYs or CUNYs...my competition for Penn is 2 other people. One is legacy w/ low grades, another is high academics w/ no ECs

Hmm, I think I'm the only one for Princeton at my school (prob the first for several years from my school). Georgetown, I know another person is applying. Her dad went there, but i dunno, my grades, sat, ecs, and courseload are all higher. So I don't know how much the legacy really matters, but ah well. Hope we both get in.
One friend is applying to dartmouth, a few are applying to duke, no one else at brown (as far as I know), no one else at Penn (ditto). Many at GA Tech and UGA of course.

i would be more worried about competition from other schools...ours is just...crappy lol

Our class is too smart :(, seven out of 277 students got perfect scores on their SAT and probably 10 more were over 1550. Just about everyone in the top 50 is applying to an Ivy League school (except me - I'm 35th in the class with a 3.93 GPA just to show you how tight it is) and those who aren't are applying to Stanford, Georgetown, etc.
My guidance counselor, however, was telling me that in her senior class, 21 people applied to Brown and 9 got accepted, so I don't know if it really matters if the other applicants are from your school as long as you're all equally qualified.

I know very little people applying to LAC's. I know one that wants to go to Haverford, one that wants to go to Vassar, and that's it. Swat is my second college choice, and will become my number 1 if Penn rejects me ED.

Elciptica, my grade is too smart also. I think we have like 10+ people getting above 1570 and my grade is only 115 people. Five other people are applying early to the same school as me (Princeton)

12 people are EDing UPenn, that's more than 10% of the class, isn't that crazy?

I'm applying to 8 colleges in all. I find strange comfort in the fact that no one else in my school is applying to, or, as far as I know, has ever applied to my top two choices, one a uni and one a LAC. I know that there are tons of kids from tons of schools applying, but I really do find solace knowing that I won't be compared to anyone I actually know at those two schools. I'm also applying to one other LAC, and I believe I'll be the only one applying there (no one else in my school is considering LACs at all!). As for the other 5, my safety will have more than enough applicants from my school, and my match schools will have a good amount of applicants from my dinky little school, but I'm not too worried, as they are match and safety schools for me after all. Finally, I'm applying to one other reach, and much to my dismay, a disproportionate amount of people in my class are also applying. This bothers me for lots of reasons, namely because I don't want to be like everyone else! Also, as I said before, I don't want to be directly compared to people I know. When acceptance and rejection letters arrive in April, sure we'll have heard how many awesome applicants there were, but we'll also be able to see, clear as day, that an admissions counselor thought student A was more worthy of acceptance than students B and C and D. I know it's infinitely more complicated than that, but as a bitter rejectee, it might not seem that way. I'm almost glad my first choices are unpopular around here...
