terrybhs- maybe you should see about getting recruited for track by Tulane. Oh, wait- there may not BE track at Tulane, which could work nicely for you.

wow... that was random

They sent me some personal app thing i dont know what for (maybe ACT score or some URM thing) it allowed me to get essay and fee waived

I'm applying EA as well, 3.47 UW GPA, 30 ACT

Tulane is NOT on a hill! Yes there are small parts that are not below sea level, but definitely not on a hill. While the campus was not flooded, it did receive much water on the backside of campus. The area around the classrooms and dorms received enough water to damage some first floor rooms, but not major flooding like you have seen on the news. Yes, the campus faired well compared to other areas of New Orleans, but there was damage. On the other hand, that damage is being fixed as we speak.

Tulane will right itself, but it will take a few years. And then of course, there's the question of New Orleans.

I think those applying to Tulane have a great opportunity to experience the rebirth of a city. If TU was smart they'd start buying lots of land around the school and creating a new vision of what used to be a safety threat to their students. It probably will take several years to develop apps back to the level they had, many parents just don't want the extra hassle of having to evacuate their kids and look for a semester or year at another school. May you live in interesting times.
