Who's been admitted to the Class of 2012?

I have, anyone else?
To current students: how do you like it?

Let's discuss "K"

I'm excited...

Anyone?????

Congratulations on your acceptance!
I'm a current student and I really love it!
I'd be happy to answer any questions you might have.

Thanks! I do have a few (many) questions (and I'm sure I'll have more later!)

How do you like the student body? How would you describe it? Is it overly homogeneous? Is it quirky, preppy, snobby, etc? Do many students hail from shore to shore?
How would you describe the academics in terms of rigor and usefulness?
How are the living accommodations and yum-yums?
How's Kalamazoo in terms of things to do?

K is my first choice and hope to attend this Fall! ;)

How do you like the student body? How would you describe it? Is it overly homogeneous? Is it quirky, preppy, snobby, etc? Do many students hail from shore to shore?

I definitely don't think the students are at all homogeneous. it's a really good mix of personalities and interests here. While the majority of students are from Michigan, there are people from all over... both coasts, hawaii, new zealand... canada and texas. so it's a really good mix.

How would you describe the academics in terms of rigor and usefulness?
Academics are definitely rigorous here. With the quarter system (10 week terms) you'll always have a lot of work for each class, but since everyone has difficult classes you wont be alone in work.

How are the living accommodations and yum-yums?
The dorms are pretty nice. As a freshman you can either live in traditional doubles or quads, which I live in. Right now our student center is being renovated, but it should be done in the fall and sounds like it should be really nice.

How's Kalamazoo in terms of things to do?
There's always a lot going on to do on campus usually there's an event or speaker close to every night. and downtown kalamazoo is within walking distance and there's also a shuttle on some weekends to go to further places.
