who's been contacted for their interview?

Just so I can check where I should be in this whole thing...:)

I've heard a couple people were contacted...I'm not sure who....

From what I've learned from ED, Princeton isn't very efficient with interviewing. Or perhaps the alums aren't on top of things. Don't worry if you haven't been contacted, it has nothing to do with how early you submitted your app and you have until like March 1 to do it.
And as always, not having an interview will not affect your chances.

no seriously they were very efficient in my case
i got my interview call 2 days after i submitted my app and i'm an intl student

I got my call more than a month after submitting mine and I live in NYC!!
So maybe i should revise my statement...
Princeton isn't very consistent with interview-notifications.

It depends on the interviewer is. They give out names to the local person in charge of organising interviews very early on, but then it's up to the person who will interview you to contact you at his/her leisure. My interviewer last year did all of his interviews on the last Friday before the deadline while my friends were being interviewed in January; my interviewer this year missed the ED deadline.

ha,i recieved call like month after i've been accepted, interviewer told me,that they forgot about me,but it doesn't matter, because i got in ;o) and he also sad, that i am only one who was accepted from my area, which is like 5 countries ;o) cool

haven't been contacted at all...

Don't worry; there's plenty of time.

Yale does most of its interviews in my area in February and March, and I wouldn't be surprised if Princeton did the same.

I got contacted an hour or so ago. My interview's on Saturday.

What's it gonna be like?

fun. Be loose, confident, and ready to answer whatever question may pop into the interviewer's head. Above all, be honest. Remember, there is no "right" answer. Good luck! Jordan, eh? That is tr

The interview is really chilled. Especially for RD, where you are not bound to go if you are accepted, you'll find it is more of a chance for you to learn more about the school.

However, there are some key questions the interviewer will try to get across. For example, since I'm Canadian, my interviewer wanted to know specifically why I wanted aUS education, and why I am the best suited candidate for Princeton in my high school.

chui, really? they ask you to sell yourself---not against all candidates but against the candidates within you school? wow

(is that a factor... how many applicants a college accepts from a certain school?)

The adcoms have said repeatedly that they don't accept a certain number from a certain school. Theoretically, they could accept their entire class from one school (although they wouldn't for many reasons).

On paper it is not a factor. I don't know whether I would trust them on it.
As to what happens in the interview, it really depends on the interviewer. There are no guidelines whatsover, so it's up to them. Case in point, an interviewer for Yale last year was quizzing my friend on her knowledge of economic principles whereas mine told me which courses I should take (if I got into and went) for easy credit.

I submitted my app on December 27th and got a call today (Jan. 10th). My interview is Wednesday

interviewing does nothing in the application process unless you just blow the interviewer away with your abundant charm and suaveness or if youre excessively rude and condescending. it has been a speculation on this board for a while that ppl who dont get interviewed is b/c they are automatic rejects/acceptances...but really many people who dont get interviews is just b/c there arent enough interviewers to go around in their area.

i was accepted w/o an interview

I don't think even impressing them with your charm helps. Maybe if you're REALLY on the border, but usually it just reaffirms the decision that the adcom makes.

smiles and reaffirmingly pats zante on the back your interviewer overlooked your special exhuberant charm....im sure you'll be happy wherever you go which, remember, still very well might be princeton

lol maybe I freaked him out when I said I googled him...

But I'm pretty sure my interview didn't make that much of a difference in my decision. I think they wanted artsier kids, and I um, forgot to mention that I played flute, lol. Nor did I think my pictures were good enough to send in a portfolio, though I did write about photo in one of my essays. They must think I'm really hypocritical >.<
