Who's better: Barron's or Kaplan on SAT Writing???

im planning to buy either Barron's SAT 2 Writing workbook or Kaplan's SAT 2 Writing book and i wanted to know which one would be more beneficial in improving a writing score from let's say 600-650 to 750+ range
the reason im defaulting to the SAT 2 workbooks for writing is because there are no workbooks for the new SAT for writing and the writing section on the SAT is the same as the SAT 2 writing test
im a very good writer but i have trouble with the identifying errors section and some improving sentence questions and i could use some really good strategies for improving my essay under a timed condition
so can you guys please help me???

For one, they stoped making sat 2 writing books. For two, yes they make workbooks (kaplan new sat writing workbook, barron's verbal workbook which has writing and critical reading in it) so look at those on say amazon.com

And Stix, you can still buy Barron's SAT II Writing on Amazon: <a href="http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0764123467/qid=1119922186/sr=8-3/ref=pd_bbs_3/104-8177766-6783153?v=glance&s=books&n=507846%5B/url%5D">http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0764123467/qid=1119922186/sr=8-3/ref=pd_bbs_3/104-8177766-6783153?v=glance&s=books&n=507846</a>

And Kaplan: <a href="http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0743251962/qid=1119922608/sr=8-1/ref=sr_8_xs_ap_i1_xgl14/104-8177766-6783153?v=glance&s=books&n=507846%5B/url%5D">http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0743251962/qid=1119922608/sr=8-1/ref=sr_8_xs_ap_i1_xgl14/104-8177766-6783153?v=glance&s=books&n=507846</a></p>

Not sure how long they'll be available, though.

Also, I wouldn't recomed petersons and

The SAT II Writing for Kaplan...2 left in stock. Looks like there's still plenty of Barron's, though.

Zachsta, you posted each of your coments just before I got mine in. DARN YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Haha, sorry bud.

For what i know, the kaplan geeks focus a lot on grammer and sentence compositions. I took their course, too, so im pretty sure what im talking about

no help on barron stuff sry.

I would highly reccommend Barron's SAT II Writing. I took the SAT II test in January, and found the SAT I writing section to be very similar. I had to do very little prep because I'd done it all for SAT II Writing. And I got 800 on the SAT I writing and 770 on SAT II Writing.

The practice questions are very good in the Barron's book, and everything feels the same on the real exam. And there aren't too many mistakes either (which is rare for Barrons).

So which is the best book for the writing ? I also have trouble with the identifying errors section !!
Thanks

come to think of it, i do think that in term of difficulty level, barrons have the advantage (harder problems than kaplans), but i wouldn't agree that the barrons are necessarily better!

it doesnt matter to me if the book focuses on the new SAT or the SAT 2 writing because both of them are the same
so far we have one strongly in favor for barrons
can anyone else prove that barron's difficulty level helped them improve their score by alot????
thanks

definetely go for barron's!!!(my top choice in SAT books)...kaplan is unrealistic...it's too easy...

I think barron's would be the upperhand on this. I've tried everything- the one i have which was really good is: "Verbal workbook for the NEW SAT (barron's verbal workbook for SAT)".

thanks a lot !

Everyone says that kaplan is always "way to easy". I have bought some of thier recent books and some are too hard!
