"To answer your question tettyk, the guy/girl ratio in the college of engineering is about 3/1 I think. And what's even worse (for the guys) is that a disproportionately high amount of girls drop out of engineering after freshman year. My only guess to that is that they were underqualified to begin with, and were only admitted because they were girls. Also, the girls tend to do specific majors in engineering. Most of the girls in engineering do either operations research, civil engineering, biological engineering, or chemical engineering. If you do electrical engineering, engineering physics, mechanical engineering or computer science, the only girls you will see are the crazy singaporean ones who need a 3.8 in order to not be deported. Not to completely wash away your hopes, but if you are looking for girls, don't look for them in your classes. My girlfriend is in arts and sciences, and yours probably will be too."

haha I'm a girl I put engeneering undecided, but I'm thinking of majoring in comp sci, and the crazy part? I'm not from singapore.

aim: nukesubs517 (if you can't tell from my sn I'm doing rotc and want to use the chem engineering to go to nuke school for the navy after I graduate)

Chemical Engineering with premed (maybe biomedical engineering minor - not sure)

Are any other engineers doing pre-med? Because NO ONE I talk to seems to understand why I'd want to do engineering for undergrad and go on to be a doctor - NO ONE

doing engineering as a pre-med is not a great idea, unless you're doing biomed engineering or something similiar. engineering classes kill your GPA, a GPA which you will desperately need to get into med school.

yeah I'll be swimming for the team next year. Just have to use the first few weeks to learn how to manage my time and stuff like that...it will all work out though.
and i'm materials science and engineering.

cool swimback, don't forget to use that first week to practice swimming, you know, so that you can pass the swimtest, lol. Nah its gotta be a piece of cake. I mean, just 3 lengths, hardest part for me will be the backcrawl, cuz i havent done lessons in ages. I just love swimming tho. recreatiounally. And I never use the back crawl, lol, but i can do a length of it, may look funny and not be all that great, but it will get me to the other side,l ol
