I personally am planning on competing in W Track and Field if I get in.
How about everyone else?

If I get in, I'll be doing cross country and track for sure.

if i get in, i wanna do soccer

Once I get in with ease (Just Kidding!), I wanna play for the tennis team.

count me in for Track and Field!

might do cross county, and maybe track.

i gotta see how it goes during 1st semester.

I really want to do fencing...hopefully I'll be good enough!

If it weren't for track, I'd do fencing too.

dang, i knew that people at schools like mit were into xc and track, but this thread indicates that at least half of the students going to mit are into track and field. pretty cool =P

for those that are into xc and track, list your best times. here are mine:

5k: 16:08

1mile:4:49
2mile:10:32

Not exactly a sport, but if I'm admitted I definitely plan to continue with Shotokan Karate; I've heard there're a few groups of martial artists on campus.

Pole Vault- 10'2"
High Jump- 5'
Long Jump- 16'3"
Triple Jump- 32'6.5"

I love to fly! For the record, I'm 5'2" and proud of it =D.
I'm also looking forward to the fact that Boston has a trapeze school. Anywhere else I would go wouldn't be near as close.

Since there are a lot of track people here, I thought I'd let you guys know what I thought when I visited (a few days ago).
First off, everyone on the team was really nice (well, I suppose it's MIT, what do you expect?) It seemed like it was just a lot of fun. Also, the women's head coach (Fletcher Brooks) was really very nice and seemed like a fun person (unless he was acting that way because I was there...=P). Anyways, it seemed great.

nice! I'm already a collegiate runner at a pretty competitive NCAA DII school, applying for transfer. I'm not that good though.

I suppose I could always try and continue my volleyball career.

I'm in and I'll be doing track!! I'll also go out for the soccer team...eleven years experience should help ;)

800m--2:03 (hope to go 1:57 this season..)
1600m--~4:40

soccer at the collegiate level for me

I'd love to do Volley Ball

ill prolly play volleyball and swim. not varsity or anything, im not that good. but yea, itramurals or something.
