I know I am.

So am I. I wish they could give it to us a couple hours earlier. Yale does it at 5:00PM which is nice because then you can get it when you get back from school (plus or minus epsilon).

Oh well, my parents are taking me out to Applebee’s so I don’t waste away while waiting for my MIT stuff.

me!
It seems like the most likely outcome since they defer like 70% of their early action applicants

raise hand

Yeah, after looking through last year’s thread deferral is far and away the most likely outcome for me

Yes, definitely predicting a deferral. To be honest, I would be extremely shocked if I got accepted OR rejected.

@GoldOwl

Same here, I don’t think i am “not academically qualified”, but deferred is most likely…

Well- I’m definitely not preparing for acceptance…

I would also feel extremely shocked if I wasn’t deferred.

Rationally, I’m expecting a deferral but…

Just the possibility of getting in, the excited posting of results in the decisions thread, the celebratory facebook status update, is too much.

I think we should just all anticipate that we’re going to be deferred. That way, if we’re accepted, we’ll be extra surprised and excited about it and if we’re deferred, we still won’t feel too bad.

^^Agreed about all of that. I keep thinking I have a really good shot, but I know I’ll probably deferred too. Everyone has a good shot, haha.

I know that I’ll get deferred, but I don’t know it. lol. The what if is too exciting.

Since we’re all expecting deferral, I’d like to know what the admissions stats are for deferred applicants. Lower or higher than plain ol’ RD applicants?

[MIT Admissions: Admissions Statistics](http://www.mitadmissions.org/topics/apply/admissions_statistics/index.shtml)

Only RD admit rate: 6.51%

Only EA Deferees: 7.87%

Altogether RD: 6.87%

It basically works like this: roughly 10% of early applicants get accepted, and roughly 10% of deferred applicants get accepted on Pi Day.

And i’m also trying to prepare for deferral, considering there’s a 70-80% chance that i’ll get deferred (but hey, i’m going to be getting an iPad pretty soon as part of my birthday, so at least that’s good:)

I am! 10 char

Probably will get a deferral, also. And hey, if I get accepted, then it’ll be a surprise :)

@rightperspective
An iPad is cool for like a month until you realize that you can’t really do anything (productive) with it. I use it for like 15 minutes a day at breakfast to check email/news.

@RazorConcepts: Yeah I know what you mean. I’m getting one because I think it will be useful for web browsing and apps while I’m in college. It’s not going to replace any of my other gadgets. I really don’t need it, and I know it’s really a novelty, but I think that it would be nice to have while i’m in college.

I’d trade 4000000 ipads to get an acceptance today :).

Actually I’d probably take the billion dollars worth of iPads…
