Who's pumped for October 17th SSAT?????????????????????????????????????????????? ?????

I am, lol.

I would be if I was taking it!!!

Good Luck! I am taking the November and December ones
When you take it can you tell me how it went, what was complicated and the timing? I know the timing is very minimum!

Ugh, I wish I could take it. I have a cross country meet and dance competition. I have to take it in December.
Good luck! Let me know how it goes(:

Son is taking it. Thanks for reminding me! It’s in, what, 2 more days?? I wish he would prepare a little because I really don’t want to give up two Saturday mornings waiting for him to take some stupid test. It’s expensive, too; especially when you consider the money spent shopping while he’s testing and then lunch at the little Indian restaurant…

Hopefully, he’ll not spaz out on the bubble sheet like he did last year and have to retake!

crap

only 2 days to cram?

anyone’s ssat in nh?

Yeah, I’m taking mine in NJ. I’ve prepped pretty well tho, so I don’t really need to cram. And, I’ll keep everyone informed on timing complications, and general difficulty level. Also, I really don’t get destroyed by the nervous syndrome because I’ve been acing all my practice tests (2350+), but I hope I don’t screw up on the day of the test.

But, the good thing is, during the vocab section, I’ll have a little nap time, since I take 15 minutes with triple checking for vocab section. Math, I’ll have 1 or 2 minutes left over after checking and such. Reading, I have like 7-8 minutes left over. The essay, I have like 1 second left over :). So basically my only worries for timing are finishing the essay and having enough time to make it better.

wow im like the complete opposite

i have no clue how much time i will have and even if i have enough to finish everything

I’ve studied like 10 vocab words

I’ve haven’t even practiced an essay yet

but I’m fairly certain i can do well on math

I’ll keep you guys updated about the ssat for the unprepared type of person like me - if you’re more like me then ccuser

Cool.
2010, where are you applying and for what grade and year?

Andover, Exeter, St. Pauls, Choate and maybe a few others (haven’t completley decided yet)

for grade 10 - next year (class of 2013)

what about yourself?

**opps sorry i didn’t mean to call you ccuser lol

Meh, its all good. :)

I’m applying 2010-2011 as a freshman to Exeter, Andover, Deerfield, Hotchkiss, Lawrenceville.

see you at exeter or andover next year!

Hopefully. :)

I’m applying for 10-11 as a freshman to andover and exeter and will be taking my ssat on the 12th, only one try for me. But, I have been prepping, I actually think the timing is really generous, I was dying of boredom during the practice tests because I don’t trust myself to look over them. When I look over things I generally over-complicate them by a ton. Good luck to everyone who’s taking it!!!

me…coz I dont have to take it.

Taking as well. Not too nervous. ;P

If you’re having trouble with the timing, I found it was easier to practice with 5/10 minutes off of the actual time. So say for Verbal it’s 30 minutes for 60 questions, try 25 minutes for 60 questions. That way, you’ll be prepping yourself for having to use your time more wisely, without having to try and rush. But then again, people probably have different learning styles, but this worked for me. ;>

Lucky I’m not taking it just yet. It’d be on my birthday. xD

Good luck to all of you who are though! (:

yeah, timing is pretty generous. I really do hope I get into Exeter or Andover though.

How do you finish the reading section so quickly? Wow. I usually don’t even have time for the last question.
