i have an ongoing joke with my boyfriend about emo bands. he does the best impersonation of their singing, (you know, the whinyness and the way they mispronounce words...purposesly? like instead of my eyes it become myeee yyyyyyeeeyes.) anyhoo, we can't stand emo. i dressed up my friend as emo angsty boy for haloween, she wore square glasses with black frames and talked about her heart a lot. it was very effective.

has anyone read the maddox thing about angsty webcam girls?

If Gwen wasnt in No Doubt then she'd struggle whereas Madonna make it on her own.....thats class!

"thats class". haha. i mean its incredible she made it on her own but not everything was classy.

Why?She was independant, she certainly didnt give in to anyone who offered her a huge cheque and she is a worldwide inspiration even to this day.
Yer she made mistakes and probably showed off a few bad hair cuts but no-ones perfect not even Madonna!!

She was certainly strong and determined and not afraid of what other people thought of her.

Looking at the title of this thread again, I thought it was going to be about candy...

well i'm just talking about the porno music video and such.

Even so.....but how many celebs Madonnas age would be seen doing that without scrutiny!!

true....btw she look amazing at 40 something in that one video where she's beating herself up. i think it was for james bond.

We always hear about how our generation has been the most marketed and media savvy. Therefore, it's only a natural evolution for the boy bands that we grew up with, as tweens, to become "rockers", as personified by Simple Plan, GC, All-American Rejects, etc. They're basically BSB with guitars and drums, although their musicianship is roughly the same.

Let's see, what was the boy band formula? Oh yeah, take a group of "all-American" and non-threatening guys and make a band. Designate one pretty boy to be the face and "soul" of the group, effectively pushing everybody else to the background. Songs should only revolve around the narrow perspective of teenagers, which include love, rebellion, and hating parents.

nbachris2788!....you forgot to add the cheesyness of boy bands.

Missy Elliot is pretty innovative.

lol

.....So so, her new song is not bad but shes like a more eccentric Faith Hill and an older Lefteye (RIP)Lisa was amazing there'll never be another!

what? missy elliot is a more eccentric faith hill? missy elliot is a rap artist and faith hill a country/pop star. are you talking about faith evans, who is still only an r&b artist. lefteye was alright, with tlc of course.

missy elliot always has these incredibly fresh beats in her songs, which is what she's about. not the deepest lyrics, but her talent shines through her crazy songs and unique style.

yeah lol i was like missy... faith hill??? not quite. ;)

Not as a performer obviously....even a goat knows they're from different roots but I mean't that I have seen interviews and read plenty of books and they have some same qualities.

don't be knocking poprocks, that **** is awesome. That tingly sensation you get on your tongue! no other candy does that.

LOL
I miss it; haven't eaten that in a long time
