Bigmike, Forgot about you in my last post, congrats - hope you get it all straightened out quickly.

congrats you guys!!! unfortunately i'm still waiting...

jorge.juan you must be in the same pile as foghorn - have you checked the decision site because I haven't gotten a letter or email yet, I only saw the online decision. Sorry you are still waiting - let us know when you get the good news.

When is the RD decision in? anyone know?

Isn't it April 1?

man another month??

I can't wait :(

Finally! I got into Honors as well. See you guys on campus, maybe.

Edit: I also got into Gemstone but honestly I don't think I'll do it. Honors is enough. My brother was in Gemstone and he despised it. It sounds like a decent program but it's not for me.

Now I wait to hear back from all the other schools! Thanks for the advise and support everyone.

Congrats

go terps beat ncst

Okay Foghorn, guys we are sending all our positive vibes to Jorge.juan now - I'm assuming you'll get the school thing straightened out bigmike.

Congrats Foghorn! Glad to hear the results are what you wanted.

Maybe see you around!

jorge - we are all waiting to hear good news from you too!

Congratulations Foghorn! :D

OOS Acceptance

After almost a month of waiting, I just learned that I was accepted! Apparently, the admissions office made a clerical error listing me as a transfer student rather than a freshman. Perhaps it is not too common to apply as a freshman with 60 + college credits. I am hoping the delay did not prevent me from getting into any special programs or receiving a scholarship.

Jorge.juan - It's March 1st - your decision???? Please tell us you have heard.

i still havn't gotten a decision and i applied in october

thanks guys!!!! unfortunately i'm still waiting too... i think i'll call again to see whats up

I have been reading this thread with interest. My D has not heard from Univ of Maryland either. All of her paperwork went iby Dec 1 deadline. She is top student, salutatorian of her class. Others at her school have already been accepted. We stopped by University of Maryland on Feb 17 and were shocked by what we found out. We talked to an admissions counselor personally. He pulled up my daughters records and confirmed that everything had indeed been sent in on time yet her application was not processed at all. They told us that there are two computer programs to process appllications. ONe to accept the appllication info and one to let counselors know that applications are ready to be processed. In our case there was a computer glitch and the application which lets counselors know that applications are ready to be processed still showed my daughters application as being incomplete. THe counselor went on to tell me that MANY people have had the same problem this year and many had been calling and yelling about it. I made the mistake of not yelling also. I was assured that my D's application would be promptly processed , she would be given full consideration for all schlolarships and she would know in a week online. Two and a half weeks later we have still not heard anything, D's application still not processed and B/K scholarship invites have already gone out according to what people are writing here. When I called U of M they told me they did not know when her application would be proceseed. I just wanted to let others know about this because I am furious.

finally got in today

D was accepted today. After a very aggravating call to admissions this morning I was told to call back in TWO weeks about banner key. (What are these people thinking??)
I pointed out that interviews are next week and letters went out last week for B/K, and that my D had not even been accepted at that point because of THEIR error. I was basically told there was nothing they could do but she would be considered for merit scholarships.

Looks like a tough year for Maryland wth organization. I was notified that they have not received my FAFSA, though it was submitted in January and corrected in Feb after tax returns.. Called FAFSA and they said all Maryland has to do is download it and to have Maryland call them!
idk - what a shame - they may lose some good students for fall 2009 with these errors. On this thread alone there are some top students who applied priority and didn't hear until after the B/K notifications. With what you have posted I would guess that their applications were not even looked at for the B/K because they weren't processed in the correct time frame.

You guys may want to "manually" check the decision:

https://www.sis.umd.edu/admissions/AdmitDec

Log in using your information from your application. Not to scare you, but I have a few friends who didn't get a decision on the same day that I did and they were very frustrated. After a while so they decided to check their decision though the website and, unfortunately, did not receive great news. I know UMD sends an e-mail saying "Congratulations!" if you get in and I am fairly sure that it doesn't notify you if you don't... But, its worth checking. For all I know, I could be totally wrong and hopefully as soon as you log it you will see a big, beautiful "CONGRATULATIONS!" on the front of your screen. Good Luck!
