You don't need to say a name, but I'm just wondering, "Who is the smartest person you know? Why is he/she the smartest?"

I just like to know more about "genius" types.

I'll go. The smartest non-teacher I know is a Junior in high school with a 4.78 GPA, 1570 SAT, 2400 SAT IIs. He's amazing at Quiz bowl and Sci Olympiad.

the smartest person i know can’t be measured using tests (tests as in “this is the correct answer and this isnt”) or have this person’s wisdom “reflected” in gpa or gre scores or intellectual quotient

after knowing this person for a while, you notice something is different about this person and that this person understands the world at a more raw, deeper level

my dad. he really is the ‘genius’ type. i’m not sure if he has a photographic memory & just doesn’t know it, or he just has a knack for learning a lot about people/dates/events in history. & as if that weren’t enough, he’s really gifted at math & science [physics-y-type stuff]. he remembers/understands concepts he learned 30 years ago better than i do when it comes to something i have been studying constantly for the past few weeks. which sucks, because, growing up, he was like my own personal tutor when it came to just about any math problem, & it was still my weakest subject -_-

I don’t even think there’s such a thing as photographic memory or know how it’s possible. People tell me I got photographic memory, but honestly I just study stuff and memorize it… It’s nothing photographic… *** is a photographic memory???

"don’t even think there’s such a thing as photographic memory "

Yes there is. I literally think in pictures, and as such I remember in pictures, too. It’s like looking at a series of exact snapshots.

Unfortunately it doesn’t always work if I wasn’t consciously trying to commit whatever it is to memory. Like, for example, sometimes I know the exact book, page, paragraph, line, and location in the sentence of an answer but can’t remember wth is written just there.

probably my godfather, because he has several different types of “intelligence”. he’s a biophysicist and got his bs/ms/phd from impressive research universities, so he’s well educated. He’s got an artsy side and is a talented painter, and can play piano really well (and guitar, but he’s average at that). I like the combination of being an artsy physicist - wish i could be like that But I don’t think he’s a “genius”. Not sure what a genius is, really.

i have a feeling that some dbag cc kid who spends all day making chance threads already took the title lol

I have a friend from my internship with a political organization that is a physics/english double major who plays bass. (Not the guitar, the big thing.) He’s pretty cool.

I don’t think I have a perfectly working photographic memory, but this happens to me sometimes; never when I’m consciously trying to memorize it, though.
