<p>Thought I'd make a thread devoted to transfer acceptances.</p>
<p>I was just accepted to Bates College as a transfer and plan on attending. Anyone else?</p>
<p>What is Bates College like? Have you visited yet? They sent me a whole bunch of stuff when I was a senior in high school but I didnt really pay attention since I didnt want to go all the way to Maine. But anyways The first acceptance I get im getting out of this school, I hate it.</p>
<p>Bates is a small liberal-arts college in Maine, one of the top 25 in the nation and ranked 8th for academic challenge. It has 1700 students and was the only school I applied to. I won't complain since the transfer rate (18%) is so low.</p>
<p>Where are you now and where would you like to go?</p>
<p>Right now im at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond VA. I applied to Virginia tech, james madison, UNC, UMD, university of Miami, and Ohio state.</p>

where did you get the academic challenge rating? I'd be curious to see the schools that made this list.</p>
<p>AHhh I;m so nervous... I really need to get the hell out of my LAC. I decided that a campus life of drinking and partying and if not that, simply working, is not for me. So, I'm trying to transfer to NYU. What about you guys? I only had time to apply there though..I decided I wanted to transfer 3 days before the due date! So I was very rushed...eeks..I'm nervous.</p>
<p>Unfortunately I didn't get it from a specific place (my Bates friends supplied me with the info). I'd check USNEWS. I do know that Reed College is 1st in challenge and Midd is 2nd</p>
