Whose applying early action to Chicago?

I am!
I noticed all the ED threads and thought that I should start an EA thread for Chicago. Has anyone finished their essays yet? I finished my "Why Chicago?" essay. Still working on Favorite Things and main essays though. I am responding to the Borgia and I prompt. Which one are y'all doing? Anyone ambitious or brave enough to take one the improv comedy prompt?

I'll be applying EA. And I'll be taking on the improv prompt. I've got some great ideas for it, but haven't actually started writing.

I was going to do the Borges y yo, but now I'm doing the picture prompt.

None of my essays are anywhere near complete. Yay...

I'm applying EA too! My essays are nowhere near complete either . . . I think I'm going to do the picture prompt, but I'm still trying to figure out what direction I want to go with it. Good luck to all of you (I know I'll need it), and kudos esentman on doing to improv one - it's insane (in a good way). :-)

I am!! I started my essays, and they too are nowhere near ready. I'm doing the table prompt.

Add me to the list!

But I'm totally freaking about essays! The only one I've started in earnest is the "why Chicago" essay but the way its going, its gonna be like 2 pages! I'm thinking I got some good ideas for the others, but I just can't seem to write them. I'm so freaking nervous about the whole thing. Usually, I love to write and end up with a product I'm very happy with. I'm just so stressed about this whole thing. I want it sooooo baaddddddddddd.....

I think I might do a "warm-up" app to one of my safety schools...

Anybody else doing the essay prompt on Supertramp?

Me too!

I'm doing the improv one as well !
Hopefully, it turns out the way I imagine it will.
I wanted to do the Borges y yo prompt but after thinking it through, I thought I would convey myself as too whiny and self demote myself somehow.

buena suerte!

I'm applying EA. I already wrote my essays. I actually had lots of fun writing the main one, I did the improv one on a whim one night at like 2 in the morning. I think my delirious sleepy state was what made it so easy to write, but I thought it was so fun to write. You shouldn't be nervous, because these sorts of essays are so easy to write well since you can really show yourself in them. I actually have more of a hard time writing about the serious, boring topics that come up on the common app.

I am! Good to know I'm not the only one still working on the essays.

Good luck to everyone! I'm sure everyone here wants it badly

I am also a fellow UChicago EAer. :)
As for the essays... I've completed the "Why Chicago?" and "Favorite Things" Essays -- now onto the behemoth "table" essay

good luck to all!

I'm doing EA as well. I've written all my essays, but my long-form essay is in response to a prompt from last year, and I haven't heard back yet from admissions about whether that's okay. Oh, and good luck to everyone!

I finished my long one (chose the Borges and I prompt). Haven't started the other two yet sigh...

Anyone using their Chicago essay for the long essay on the Common App? I think I'm going to (under the "choose your own topic" prompt), but I'm not sure how I'm gonna word the topic yet..

i'm having a lot of trouble deciding what to write for the supertramp essay... anybody else doing it??

rofflecopters @ jack4640

ivis I think I'm gonna do the same thing. I'm gonna choose the open ended option on the common app because I don't have time to write another essay.I hope my my Borges y yo essay is tame enough for the commonapp though....

I'm applying EA too. For my essay, I chose "Borges y yo", and I just got through my first revision of it. I had a lot of fun writing it.

Applying EA here also. I chose the "Tell us about your table" prompt and, of course, I'm not even remotely close to being finished. I might change prompts at the last minute 'cause I'm starting to like the improv prompt more and more... Now I must go prepare for my crosses fingers final SAT/ACT... soooo sleeeppyie

raises hand

although truth me told my essays haven't really been started. it's been like a sentence for each. but yesterday i had a light bulb for the books/movies one, so i'll be off to write that one soon.
