hello again everyone. I just wanted to mention that last year I was in Pennypacker 37 which was the best room by far becuase us and 38 became such good friends and made the most noise. lol we had to go through the torture of a detention. I took biomedical ethics and pre calculus so if anyone has any questions on these courses you can ask me. have fun this summer!!!

Hey elysse, is there a reason that I will only have 1 roommate? Is the room really small or is it just a good room?

If I remember correctly, 12 is a corner room on the first floor, and only has one bedroom, a common room, and a bathroom. If it is the room I am thinking of, you will only have one roommate.

Does anyone know what Wigglesworth, specifically K11, is like?

JZ511 - It's 14 that has the one room. Last summer, 12 was the proctor's room, so it should be big...

I also went to SSP last year, as a sophomore. I had such a great time, and fell in love with Cambridge. Curfew's not too rough... although the dorms that sophomores live in aren't exactly great- they're freshman dorms usually. I remember walking up flights of stairs to the dorm.. Still, the whole experience changed me for the better. My roommates were so fun, and such talented people. I didn't have any international people in my dorm, but there were quite a few in our building. It was such a fantastic experience, I can't really relay how much fun I had.
I wish I'd be able to go this summer, but it's just not possible with my school.

Re the chorus- a few of my friends went.. tryouts are in the first few weeks. there are weekly rehersals, and a performance at the end of the summer. heard it's really fun and you'll meet tons of great people.

The airport at Boston has a lot of delays, mostly due to weather. Most of the times I've travelled to Boston, I've had long delays... so be prepared. I left on the last day, and my flight was delayed, so I had to stay in Boston with some friends for another day...

How many of you going to SSP are going to apply to Harvard College?

just so you know i kept in contact with plenty of kids from SSP and not one of them was accepted to Harvard that I know of. There must be at least one in the whole program but I havent heard of anyone. This program doesnt really give you preferece in admissions so dont depend on that.

Where are you from: Belfast, Northern Ireland
What year are you in HS: Final
A Levels: B's mostly
Courses taking: Principles of Macroeconomics, Intro to Intl Relations
Why you selected Harvard for SSP: no bloody idea

Sweet somebody from Ireland...wait im not going to SSP

I'm new to this entire thing, so I've no idea what to expect. Only hope it's something decent

Are we suppose to order books for our classes? If so, when do we find out which books to order? I'm taking General Chemistry...so if anyone knows which books to order, please let me know.

stanmaster, how was biomedical ethics...was it a lot of work/how hard was it? Yeah, I'm taking that with multivariable calc...it should be a fun summer!

I was wondering about books, too....hmm, I wonder when we get all that info.

Check your syllabus when it is posted online once you know who your prof is, and they have the books listed there.

I know my courses and the prof's but where do I go to find the syllabus for each course and the books that will be required?

biomedical ethics is a great class. There is areading assigned each class but you dont really have to do it. There aer 4 quizzes that are really easy. The midterm and final are take home essays that are really short. The class was perfect for the summer because there is little work but its interesting.

how many international students are there because i dont want to feel like an outcast

I am an international, and I think there's another Taiwanese girl will go to Harvard SSP this summer. She was on CC last week, I cannot find her now. BTW, I am Chinese.

rks2689 -- I'm in Hollis Hall, room 13!
quinoguiver -- I'm thinking about trying out acctually. Are there special meterial (ie. songs to memorize) that we're suppose to pick up?
fallinwater -- Am I the Taiwanese girl that you're talking about? ;)

ebexlax! you are not international! you live in new jersey!

you're from ireland-- that doesnt make you an international student considering you now live in New Jersey. You're nuts.
