Whst is the best magazine for current day politics???

ok so whcih magazine is the best to keep up with current day politics and has a college level vocabulary i want a subscription but i don't want a childish magazine i want a good weekly magazine with lots of interesting stories does any one know of a magazine like that.

the economist is pretty good

The New Yorker

else you'd have to scan through hardcore academic journals

I'm a fan of the Economist. You can go to your school or local library and see which ones you like.

New Oxford Review.

The Economist, especially for International Politics and News - it's separated by regions so easy to scan which part of the world you want to read up on. You should check it out.

I like The Atlantic myself!

I wanted to ask the same question except I'm looking for a college level magazine about literature, cinema, current intellectual trends, etc. Like people's opinions on current events outside of politics.

TIME, New Yorker, Foreign Affairs

gotta love TIME!!!!!!

The Economist and The Atlantic. Sometimes, I like The New Yorker as well.

The Economist
Time Magazine
NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC !!!! everyone needs to read that

I third/fourth/whatever The Economist

You can't go wrong with The Economist and The Atlantic. Time is...mediocre by comparison, coming from a person who gets all 3.

Newsweek isnt the most 'academic' magazine, but i like how it presents current issues in ways that the majority of people can understand.
Time is similar, but not quite as simplistic as newsweek

In addition to The Economist and The Atlantic (which are more general news publications than politics):

Political magazines:
The Nation - left wing
The New Republic - left-of-center
The Weekly Standard - neo conservative
National Review - classical conservative

Better described as "journals of statescraft":
Foreign Affairs
Foreign Policy
Current History
The National Interest
The American Interest (new, but with big names. Breakaway from The National Interest)

These are the big ones I know about. If I had to pick two, I'd get The Economist along with Foreign Affairs. Or better yet, just read them at the library.

God I hate FP. Any magazine that uses Thomas Friedman should just end itself.

Cosmopolitan

Personally I love The Atlantic!
