<p>Why should you be depressed about going to UCSD if you get a guarantee transfer to Cornell in a year? You won't be there for long. A year isn't a lot of time at all if you compare it to four years.</p>

<p>whatever, i had fun at UCSD and i'm heading off for a real good grad school in fall -- i wanted to transfer out to UCB as freshman, but i'm glad I did not let some stupid preconception about UCB being better than UCSD lead me to lose out on the great time and opportunities i had at UCSD, plus having to start over meeting people and familiarizing with the place ... i do not know if the opportunities would have been same at UCB, but who cares now -- it worked out better than i expected when i came here as freshman</p>
<p>surely, there are people who are miserable at UCSD -- but i've had some friends from high school go to UCB and not everyone was having a blast there as they reported (one person was actually on antidepressants being unable to handle the stress and work load there) -- so i do not know what use it would have been transfering out to another UC at least -- UC's are very similar to one another ...</p>

People said it sux no social life blah blah. i got really depressed because of that. I went to orientation, man i ono what they talking about, Revelle seemed like the more active college to me. so i also had a turn around and i fell in love with ucsd.</p>
