I just don’t understand why so many scholarships awards are given based on SATI or ACT. Some have limits for SATI scores, while many award more money to students with higher SATI. Has anyone heard about scholarships based on SATII or just GPA?
Sure, I have heard about scholarship programs that seek for applicants with some humanity specials. But does this secure low- and middle-SATIs some chances for winning scholarships?

Because colleges are trying to attract high scoring students, which means that the colleges will be rated higher in the college guides.

There also are scholarships for things such as athletic and muisical skills, leadership, community service, valedictorian status, NHS membership, etc. If your SATs aren't high enough to get SAT-related scholarships, look for scholarships that match your talents and interess.

Pretty much the majority of them, cake. A lot of people who made it into the UC system, for example, with a 1200 can pretty much guarantee that they're not going to qualify for a Regents' scholarship because the rest of the people have really high scores... 1400, 1510.

There's money out there, though. We're just going to have to look harder and dig a little deeper.

Once you start looking at colleges who average SAT scores around ~1400, I think they look more at other things. They want to see that they're accepting someone with personality who will bring something unique to the college.

Edit: I just realized the title said "scholarships," but I think the same goes for scholarships.

there's tons of scholarships out there that were just not aware of that aren't based on sat 1 scores. in fact, all of the scholarships i've won so far were NOT based on sat 1 scores.

UC regents scholarship
BU and Saint Joseph University's scholarships (trustee scholarship, presidential scholarships, etc.)
Many other university scholarships are based on SATI and ACT.
