Why are all the PE classes full?

Checking on SSOL, seems like the only choices I have for PE is beginning swimming, strength training, and rowing.

I planned to knock PE out of the way as a freshman, which is recommended for my degree track. But it seems that selection is so limited. Do freshman typically take PE or do they do that later?

I think most people take PE classes later.

i’d like to know too… i’ve read that students generally satisfy their PE requirement freshman year. not sure how its possible with all the classes filled.

^Most people wait till later to satisfy their P.E. requirements. As incoming freshmen, you guys have the worst registration periods (everyone else already registered way back in April), so it’s highly unlikely that you’ll get into a P.E. class you like. I only know one person who did P.E. freshman year.

Take it later, you will get ample opportunities.

There tends to be at least 1 or 2 classes that arent completely full (nothing too interesting, cardio or weight lifting). I took weight lifting 2nd semester freshman year but what others have said about waiting is generally true.

You do have a slight chance to get into a class tho, if it’s something like cardio/weights/swimming. If you go on the first day orientation thing in the bottom of dodge (there are signs at dodge and the person at the turnstiles should know what day it is), you can talk to the instructor for the class and see if there is a possibility for getting in. Some people drop the class and if you miss the first 3 I think you are automatically dropped so there’s always a chance!
