Please explain, so I could cope with that fact that I am getting another ****ing triple next year.

Now I'm pretty convinced UCLA housing is THE worst department of any school, period.

people have reagents scholarships. and if you don't like it so much then get an apartment

There has been a declining amount of doubles reserved for freshman this year. This said, students with disabilities / special needs and regent scholars are given priority to these rooms in this order if requested.

Do not be angry for a triple. You chose a public school.

i'll be a freshman and i got a triple...

Yeah, well athletes, regent scholars, aap, all get priority.

Regents don't get any priorities in housing assignments- they only get 4 guaranteed years (btw- where are people getting this "priority for regents" concept from???)

hardly any freshmen are getting doubles. that being said, i am in a double and my roommate will be one of those lucky freshmen.

Most of the regents I know have a double and priority for housing for next school year...

That's why I'm rooming with one..:D

Gee, I wish AAP people get priority for housing. I wish.

how about freshmans with singles?

if freshmen end up in single rooms, it's NOT like they're making more freshmen/sophomores be in doubles/triples.

the only single rooms for non-RAs are "closet singles" which are physically smaller rooms. they will NEVER house more than one person. so it's an entirely different thing altogether.

I wouldn't be bashing UCLA if the other publics (i.e., the other UCs) were facing this problem to the same extent.

UCD put alot of people into triples last year.

Not meant to bash UCLA, but UCLA is too small on the hill to accomodate everyone into a double room.

There is construction this year, so room assignments have to be more compact. It doesn't help too when the school enrolls more students each year.

I believe a lot of popular public schools triple up students anyways.

So I take it I'm lucky since I got a double in Hedrick with my highschool friend? I did get rejected from the honors program however..

regents do have priority. most regents i know going to LA have doubles

i'm an incoming freshman, i have a triple in hedrick summit. i'm going to be exhausted by the time i even get to color guard practice let alone finish and have to walk up the hill again. life's tough and if it bothers you that much i say get an apartment next time, otherwise you just have to deal. sorry :(

hey kirby, i'll be in hedrick summit too!
we can walk to guard practice together :D

Really?! That's so crazy, we have so much in common. It would be really funny (and somewhat awkward haha) if we ended up sharing a room. But... I have to make it into the guard to have guard practice to walk to as in I should really get cracking on my routine. I'm sure I already asked but I don't remember, are you a freshman? You know so much about UCLA that it doesn't seem like you would be a freshman.

They gave me another triple so I canceled my housing contract. My friend is in a double with no roommate for next year, and I had the housing office confirm the room was not fully occupied. They said the RD had to move me, and the RD wouldn't. Instead they ended up putting a freshman there.

Housing is evil.
