Why are only Verizon cell phones supported?

This was the consistent complaint at the meetings.

Does Verizon have some kind of exclusive deal with NU?

AT&T doesn't work, T-moble doesn't work.

In Cincinnati, cell towers are required to host other carriers cell
equipment.

Is this not the case in Evanston/Chicago?

wait wat?

are you saying that i wouldn't be able to use tmobie while i am attending NU?

Its just that NU is next to the lake (hence far away from most towers) except for Verizon, who has a tower on campus.

I heard Sprint had a tower on campus too, any truth to that?

I've always heard that only Sprint had a tower on campus, but I have Verizon and I get service absolutely everywhere.

You will get service with all providers on campus; it's just a matter of where. Sprint and Verizon both work inside most dorms, sprint should have a tower on top of tech, thus, sprint users can get signal inside the concrete building. ATT and T-mobile users are perfectly fine outdoors--inside, you may have a little problem, though standing by the window seems to be fine for most att users.

oh just an addendum-it seems like ATT+TMobile get better reception in general (indoors maybe?) in south campus.

This looks like good news...
Cellular Coverage Improves

I've got Sprint, and I get service EVERYWHERE on campus except for the basement of ISRC and a fifteen foot stretch on the back hallway of the basement of Tech. I've got free roaming included, but I can't remember the last time I roamed on NU. Sprint service is definitely good on campus.
