For me, it's because my one and only B was in US History. As of fall, I'd only finished two history classes out of five (I applied to Berkeley as a history major): US History and Western Civ I, so my major GPA is a 3.5, while my full GPA is 3.95. So, two things come to mind: first, I should've applied under anthropology (4.0 major GPA, all prereqs done in fall), second, I should've applied for classical civ and taken advantage of the 40% acceptance rate, versus the 18% for both history and anthro.

So, what's making all of you doubt that you'll get in? Aside from the obvious fact that even with a 4.0 it's a gamble. :p

It’s always different with Berkeley. I feel like I’m not what they’re looking for?! …even though NO ONE knows what they are looking for (besides having the grades!) It’s super frustrating! >__<;;

Plus what Andj00 said…PLUS my unnie being at Cal and a Psychology major sighhh so much stress!

I’m missing a major REQUIREMENT depending on how they interpret my prereqs. Without meeting all the requirements, it’s an auto-rejection without reading any further into my application; my app won’t even touch an adcoms hand if this rule is followed strictly. But here I am, still holding out hope that my app was strong enough for spring admission.

^^ditto empathy…I SHOULD have all the prereq’s, but if they pull a UCLA on me and base the transferability of my classes on the course description in the catalog I’m SO screwed. If, however, they actually READ the R&C questionaires I sent with all the details and crap I might make it past the initial checklist stage. Otherwise, automatic denial with no chance for appeal FTW!..Stupid OOS english compatibility issues!..grr…

^ My problem is with the english requirement as well. My blood is boiling because I was mildly confident I’d get into Cal and didn’t apply to UCLA. I’m totally wasting my 4.0 if I don’t get into Cal. I could have TAGged into Davis with a 3.0.

^ Wow, that’s harsh sakurax. Yunie, you should be able to read her body language. If it’s smiles, you’re in. If it’s a faked smile with sadness behind it, probably not.

^
Hey, HEY! That’s my job! ): They made it clear I could face some serious charges, haha! I haven’t seen her in agesssss…so…<3 Besides, I’m a Psych major ^__~!

I’m so EVILLL, haha.

Don’t forget to send me a kawaii picture!!! <33333333333333333! (emphasis on the <3!)

I took a really light course load, and have a bunch of W’s. The most units i’ve taken in a single semester was 13 (I think). I know that they want you to finish college quickly, and i’m afraid they’ll think I will be there for two long.

Which is a bummer because I can’t be there for too long (even though i wish i could stay a long time), because it just costs too much.
