Why aren't the UCs or USC available on the Common APP? Does anyone know? For the rising Seniors for 2011.

Because they don’t use it…
I don’t think the UC application is available until later and I don’t know about USC. Just google “(School name) Application” and you should find all the info you are looking for.

because not everybody wants to use the common app

That’s just inconvenient… there should be one universal college application website, why do they have to insist on having it their way…

because they can, and the UCs already have a statewide system in place for all of the 10 UC campuses. deal with it if you wish to apply here.

I feel your pain overachiever92. How DARE they?!

LOL Jinobi, which UC do you go to?

i am posting on the UCLA forums, aren’t I? so UCLA.

It seems relatively rare for a public school to use the common app.

@Jinobi, So am I but I’m not going to UCLA…

If you really want to know you could try sending an e-mail to the admissions office.

Haha. UC’s have their own application they use.

…lol. Because it’s amusing to make kids’ life hard. It’s their specialty. Isn’t that what school is about?

(FYI: The UC App isn’t available until like, October 1st or something. So chillaxx dude.)

Common App charges schools money to use the application. Given that UCs have a fully functional online application, there is no reason for them to pay someone else for an application interface (especially with the budget crisis right now). Owning the application also means UCs can make whatever changes they want, any time they want; instead of being restricted to what the Common App folks decide to do or not do.
