Got this from my daughter today. Evidently one of our nation's finest came up with this rock solid logic on why the Army football team is really the number ONE team in the land:

"Read on to see how we are clearly the best team in the nation. There are no weaknesses in my logic whatsoever. This didn't take me all day at all.

Army beat Baylor who beat Colorado who beat Iowa State who beat Missouri who beat Mississippi who beat Vanderbilt who beat Georgia. So Army beats Georgia.
Georgia beat Georgia Tech who beat Virginia Tech who beat Cincinnati who beat Rutgers who beat Louisville. So Army beats Louisville.
Georgia also beat Auburn. So, Army beats Auburn.
Auburn beat Florida. Therefore Army over Florida.
Auburn also beat LSU. Therefore Army beats LSU.
LSU beat Arizona who beat Cal who beat Oregon State who beat USC. Therefore Army beats USC.
LSU beat Arkansas giving Army a win over Arkansas too.
USC beat Notre Dame, regrettably. Therefore Army crushes Notre Dame the second time around after raising their hopes in the first game by giving them a victory.
Wisconsin only beat Iowa by 3 and Northwestern beat Iowa by 14, so Northwestern beats Wisconsin. Michigan State beat Northwestern and Notre Dame beat Michigan State, so Army beats Wisconsin!
Boise State beat Fresno State by 24 and LSU beat Fresno State by 32, so LSU wins over Boise State. As previously proven Army beats LSU so therefore Army beats Boise State.
Ohio State beat Illinois by 7 while Syracuse beat them by 10. Louisville beat Syracuse so it follows that Army beats Ohio State because it's already been proven that Army would beat Louisville.
Ohio State squeaked by Michigan (Go Blue!) so Army would beat Michigan.
Navy sucks. Therefore, Army beats Navy.
So, out of the BCS top 10 teams Army can beat #1 Ohio State, #2 USC, #3 Michigan, #4 Florida, #5 LSU, #6 Louisville, #7 Wisconsin, #8 Boise State, #9 Arkansas, and #10 Notre Dame. Wait> ...> that's all 10!!! Therefore Army plays for(and wins) the national title."

well all you need to do is bring the team that played Texas AM and our Navy boys will have on heck of a challenge to face.
If you have seen how many top 25 teams have lost lately you realize anything is possible.

I think they're #1 because they actually can read and write and attend the same classes that all of the other West Point cadets attend. I think the SEC has a graduation rate of about 37 percent. As for Notre Dame - held up as a place that also graduates students - I'd love to see the courses they're taking. Navy is another story - they don't even have to learn how to use a sextant any longer.

I gotta of good feeling about today---Bobby and his team have nothing to lose by playing loose and unpredictably--------those kinds of teams either get blown out or get surprise victories------
fingers crossed!!!!

man, at least we played them close. that game wasn't decided until the 4th quarter when we turned the ball over twice. army showed their potential. i just don't think they will get anywhere until they get a new coach. yes, ross is a proven winner, but that is with big time programs that can recruit the big time players needed to run the pro style offense. we need to run the option, and i think ross is too stubborn to do this.

i think they really played their hearts out today, though. i feel so bad for them, especially the seniors who never beat navy. hopefully next year they can turn it around and produce a winning season.

shogun,
bummer that both of your teams lost today:
UCLA 13 USC 9 (I did a double-take when I saw the final score) wow!
NAVY 26 ARMY 14 Corps of Cadets looked sharp though! :)

I have never posted on the USMMA page, but today I wanted to post what I just wrote on the USNA page. I am the wife of a USNA'72 grad and the mom of a female Plebe 2010....and this proud mom and wife wanted you all to read what I just posted on the USNA page concerning yesterday's Army/Navy game.

"If I had to judge the game on heart..
Army won the 1st half hands down, forget the score.
For that I proudly salute them.

Navy won - because they are a better team who knew how to capitalize on another team's mistakes. Had Army played the 2nd half as well as they played the first half - we'd all be grinding our teeth today instead of crowing.

I think all Army football seniors, tears running down their faces at the singing of their Alma Matre....deserve our best admiration and prayers. Our future warriors were true fighters on the field against our Mids. We may have won by points, but they are worthy of our respect and honor.

I watched this game at a Sports Bar with about 50 family members from our San Diego USNA Parent Club. At the end of the game one and all of us stood at reverent attention during Army's song and cheered proudly for them all.
And yes, we cheered loudly and proudly for our mids after that!!"

(As a side note, not posted on the USNA page....on friday morning we stopped by our Army recruiter's office. We are very good friends with the Sgts running that office and I asked for an Army pin of some kind to wear during the game. Yes I had a huge "NAVY" Academy sweatshirt on - but I also had an Army logo pin. We have 2 nephews deployed USArmy in Iraq right now - and I knew that this game is a matter of honor for both our services. I was in tears during Army's song - thanking God for each and every face shown. Everyone is my future protector, my future warrior who stands between me and a growing militant evil. I am grateful for every football player, every Mid, every Cadet and every Officer who was there yesterday no matter what uniform they wore!!) In the words of Tiny Tim: "God bless us one and all!" )

SteslaS - When they say that Army missed a chance I think they are referring to Navy's turnover right before halftime. Navy fumbled and Army recovered but did not get any points from it.
