<p>If schools are indeed need-blind in the admissions process, why do so many have a question "will you be applying for financial aid"? Questions like that put me in a dilemma. My family will have a pretty high EFC, which means that we will likely be paying full ride at most places, or get very little finaid. We will submit FAFSA/CSS in order not to miss out on merit money for schools that offer it. But the $1M question is how will answering the above question affect admissions decisions?</p>
<p>It doesn't. While it does ask that, they aren't going to let that influence their decisions. They do need to figure out your financial aid package, though, if they choose to accept you.</p>
