why bother going into relationships in high school?

<p>If ur going on this forum, chances are u are aiming for a top university, which most likely means out of town. so why bother dating someone when u know you'll have to break up sooner or later and likely never to see each other again?</p>

<p>why think so much about it. do it because it's fun. and enjoyable. you don't need tyo spend your whole life planning and weighing consquences, or calculating future yield. i gurantee that's a good way to be unhappy.</p>

<p>Because it's harmless fun. You can make it take over your life, you can make it risky and distracting. Or, you can ask that one girl to prom and have a nice night. And then go back to being a good student. It's not a battle of extremes here.</p>

<p>well im guessing it can give you motivation to succceed in other areas. and to gain experience and gain confidence in social interaction with the opposite sex so that you can have better relationships in college.</p>

<p>I'm in a long distance relationship and have been for over a year in a half...actually, 2 years on March 31.</p>

<p>It's fun and it's not as distracting as some people make it...you can choose how much time to devote. My boyfriend and I both agreed a long time ago that school came first. It works because he's amazing at science/math (engineer major, what do you expect?) and I'm good at history/english. It's nice since he's a year older and advanced in the areas I stink at so he helps me with work.</p>

<p>hehehe, relationships are just sorta natural byproducts of school. i mean, our hormones are raging and we are around the opposite sex all day (unless you go to a same-sex school).</p>

<p>and yeah, i have to agree with everyone, the sex pretty much makes high school relationships worthwhile.</p>

<p>eh yeah its a waste of time. luvey duvey pukey. whenever i see a couple togehter i retch. no, not because im jealous. because its just gross to see two animals touching each other and giving each other littel affectionate kisses and stuff in public. or making out in public. whatever. anyway, why bother relationships? if ur a straight guy and the chick only will give u sex w/a reltaionshiop, then go for it, but dont really care. the purpose is for guys to fulfill sexual needs through appealing to woman sensitivity bs</p>
